Has anyone else been playing hooky?

things seem to have gotten in the way. playing hooky? possibly... more likely ive just lost my verve. havent written anything but a poem this year, so far...maybe summer will bring with it a change in feeling, but i think mom's death took the wind out of my sails... it'll be a year in september.
or maybe im just not meant to write, which is a very strong possibility. we shall see.

I think in your case it may be a combination of things. I do not believe you are not meant to write, I believe it is just your way of coping with the loss of your mother and dealing with other changes which are more important to your life than writing. I feel that you will again start writing as soon as some of the turmoil in your life settles down, which will be soon. (Enjoy the Cape you brat I can't make it up there this year.)
