Have publishing times significantly improved?

There has been a lot of discussion about long publishing ways recently. I have had one story published 8 days ago after a wait of less than 2 days and today another has been accepted for publication tomorrow after a wait of around 18 hours, so credit where credit is due. My question is have i been lucky or is this a new and creditable phenomenon?

There are still inconsistencies that can't be explained.

My last two stories both got stuck in pending for 15 days, but as soon as I messaged Laurel, she immediately released then for publication. It's almost like she is losing sight of some stories in the queue on occasion.

Perhaps the Lit queue can only handle a certain number of submissions/total volume of data per day, and everything above that gets lost.
Anything is possible, but unless something has changed, the same limitations would have resulted in publishing delays for years.

I don't get bummed out by the delays because I have been dealing with publishing delays in the real world for decades. It's part of the process in mainstream publishing. After more than a decade, I know that I am nothing special here, and my expectations reflect that reality.

I also know that a polite message to Laurel after 15 days has consistently resolved the stuck in pending issue for me. The approvals from her are so fast, it is unlikely that she even reviewed what I had written once it was brought to her attention.

I had a story stuck in pending for a few extra days around New Years, but that was probably attributable to people having lives outside porn moderation.

The base time seems to be normalized, but I think some works are randomly still falling through the cracks.

In my experience, 'yes'.

A batch of 4 stories submitted at the end of December was approved within 7 days.

I submitted three stories on Thursday. Two were approved within 24 hours. The third is still waiting.

Unfortunately, despite a request in the Notes to Admins, the second story in the series is due to be published first.

Send Laurel a PM about the ordering issue.

There is nothing new or improved here. The variances in times noted in this thread has always been the norm.

I am giving up on publishing in batches.

It was easiest to bring #2 & #3 back to a draft and then submit #2 again. I will submit #3 when #2 is approved.

I have seen no change in publishing times over the past few years unless I screwed something up and had to correct it. I typically submit a story on Wednesday and it's published on Saturday or Sunday. That's 3-4 days, and considering the volume of stories published every day, I think that's pretty good. Corrections of course add a few days.

how do you message Laurel?

Same here about the overnight approval, which seems even faster than usual, though mine's scheduled for the 30th.

I finally came back and saw after months of waiting, my re-edited chapters were finally posted. I went ahead and submitted the next one and it was approved within the day, and going to be posted in the next 2-3 days.

Approval for Publication and Schedule for Publication are not the same thing.

Yours must have been approved, and has scheduled for publication on the 30th.

Djmac1031's was approved overnight and is scheduled for tomorrow.

Publication dates are often several days later because the site spreads out the number of stories published in each category on any day.

I submitted on Thursday and it's still pending. It's a long piece with some violent content that may trigger additional moderation, to be fair, but my typical wait times (a year ago) were <72 hours.

Hello - I was just wondering if there is a rule of thumb for how long audio content would take to go through the submission process?

Thanks for any insights & advice!

Yes, they have. That doesn't mean that all issues are fixed, but it's positive at least. User experience varies, but my last few stories have all been processed in 'normal' fashion.

not sure. I submitted a story on Saturday, had the pending clock set the next day, and I'm awaiting approval. I have a good feeling though that it will get approved and posted soon!

I have stories posted on 2nd February still in Pending.

And then I had feedback asking where the next chapters are - eight released in eight days and then the next seven all stuck in Pending.

Frustrating :(

It mostly seems to fall behind when i go into a pending story to re-edit it but then speeds up when i delete it and submit again as a new story. It feels like a gamble sometimes, though...do this if you don't mind potentially getting pushed back to the back of the line. Maybe it has to do with timing, too?

I was getting 2300 something word short story and an entire chapter of a series published in a few hours after submitting, but now that I'm trying to get something for the 750 word challenge published, it's taking longer for some reason.

My eyes are blurry from staring at this screen for so long...

Submitted a story today at 3.30 UK time and accepted for publication on 2/22 before 5.30 UK time today. That was at most a 2-hour wait. Things, for me at least, have improved. Credit where credit is due. For anyone interested in why it might have been accepted so quickly. It is my 82nd story category, BDSM, and short, 4,150 words
