OK, the REASON I got into that mess was I was backing out of their driveway...and into a ditch in the pitch black...such that my car was at an angle and the drivers side door wouldn't open...so i crawled over the passenger side seat to get out THAT door...hitting the door lock mechanism with my foot as I got out....so the car had to be hauled out of a ditch...at night...in the rain...with the engine running...until it ran out of gas.....I was slightly mortified...
