How to buy the right camera?

Okay, I want a good webcam, something that takes good quality pictures. I can’t seem to find one and I don’t want to purchase another one if I don’t know if it’s good or not.

In the past I’ve based my webcam purchases on price, now I want quality. I want to say price doesn’t matter, though I can’t spend like $400 dollars on a fancy webcam even if the pictures are pristine.

I would like to find a webcam that is $150 or less, that takes good quality pictures.

I have this neat little program in which the webcam plays, but it freeze frames images every five seconds. I think the program is cool, though with my crapy webcam I can’t thoroughly enjoy that program.

Anyways, I was hoping for some advice, you can tell me about your webcam or whatever and it would be nice if you could possibly include a picture from the webcam you are recommending. And as well any website address for webcam shopping are welcome.

Please help!!

This one is great

Logitech Pro 4000 Camera

Will set you back $100. Well worth it....

Great resolution - 1.3M Pixel, and looks cool ;)

Love to see an example....

Look better than this? (I'm not talking about the subject, but the quality... since there's a lot that look better than the subject, this I know)

Anyways, thank you very much....

This is an interesting article, and I may bow to the side of a cost and attempt this collaboration. Since I own a camcorder which is not used much because it needs a new battery, though if used as a webcam I can keep it plugged in. Plus I have a tripod which leads me to a whole host of new ideas in which to use this.

Though I worry about how well the actual photos would come out and if I made a computer video if it would be too large to do anything with... One plus is that the camcorder has auto focus... :D

The logitech 4000 pro is a very good quality cam for less tham $100 (got mine for $80 after rebate) It has a 1.3meg camera as it's guts, so pic AND videos are very good quality.

Thank you very much! Yes the quality looks a lot better than my creative cam and my veo stingray (see a common theme here, both are very cheap).... perhaps I'll check overstock.com and see if I can't get the same good deal you got...

The picture even looks good when you enlarge the image...

Thanks for the info I'll check it out...

Search for Gizmo (not the gremlin)

Once upon a time I was in Wally world and I found a Gizmo that enabled a person to put hook a camcorder to their computer and transfer the video to the computer and then upon having a DVD/CD burner they could then create their own dvd videos...

I'm just wondering what that Gizmo was called if anyone knows, though it could be what was in that article chucky2 supplied...

And also what's a good program to use with this, if I can remember the name of the Gizmo... what would enable me to edit and possibly add lighting or something to the already recorded video...

Sorry but I'm full of questions, way back when I thought that I was knowledgable about computers for back in high school I was chatting in chatrooms before chatting was cool, but now that I've rediscovered the internet I realize I am truly a dunce in all these matters...
