The influence of the USA diminishes year on year...Both industrially and in strategic terms. No longer a trusted friend, more of a concern at its inward looking economy and directionless foreign policies.
Like all "empires " it ends a period of dominance......It seems with the rise of China economically and the ebbing influence it carries worldwide ,that the USA is entering that period.
It will take a remarkable turn around, but with Trillions in debt ...... A socially divided nation and no inspirationally able leader on the horizon... ReallyTrump or Biden ?...........I fear that were all in for a power vaccum that will be filled by whom ?...........Sad to say as the USA has been mostly a force for good since 1900.......Now who knows where this chapter will end.

I googled "China -South Sea" - 24 hours, and the only major newssites that reported on the China - Malaysia stand-off are Reuters, TheTimes, ibtimes. Other than aljazeera, nypost and cnbc, newspapers barely paid attention to China's aggression over the last week.
