I wouldn't know.
As for Donald:
I think most of the 29% or so that got him elected are still backing him, no matter what. For most of the rest of us, "barking mad" would be praise, compared to our opinion of him. Those of us who see Donald as a twit or madman and pay any attention to foreign news will likely lump Boris into the same bucket.
Americans
How often do we start threads about your government?
Super rare.
How often do we see UK threads about our government?
Fairly common.
We matter.
That might bother y'all...
My point...

I mean, how big of a fuck-up was the whole EU/Brexit thing?

You aspire to our "fuck-ups..."
It seems as if the sun if now in a permanent setting mode on the "Empire."
That set in 1914. Catch up.

Not meant to be overly controversial, but the vast majority of people in the UK find the US President to be both barking mad and highly dangerous to the citizens he has been elected to serve. What are we missing?
I think that the continual harping on the US
is inadequacy-driven.

I don't remember the year as vividly as you do.

It's because Great Britain has become Little England and Ogg feels the need to lash out at those who really are great.![]()
But, you still have the Falklands...

The British Empire only survived the 1914-18 war in name only. The political and economic world dominance of the US starts in 1918. The end of the British Empire was inevitable even if it took until 1947 to give India independence.
The other European Empires - Germany, Austro-Hungary and Russia, didn't survive the First World War.
It is difficult to have any respect for a President who makes major foreign policy changes without consulting or even informing his allies as in Afghanistan; abandoned allies to their deaths - The Kurds in Syria; makes friends with the enemy - rocket man in North Korea; and treats his country's long-tern allies and friends with contempt.
He is wrecking the US's position as leader of the Western World - all by tweet!
Thanks to our US allies and friends. Without US support we couldn't have won.
