Here's How Donald Trump Could Become President

I find the difference between the two major parties in this election remarkable. The Democrats are relatively united, it seems to me. Most of the Bernie supporters have come around, just as I thought they would, no matter how bad Hillary Clinton is. The Republicans, on the other hand, are relatively ununited, obviously. That fact alone will probably cost them the presidential election, perhaps the Senate majority, and possibly even the House majority, if they persist in their disunity. It will be interesting to see if they can adopt the political pragmatism of the Democrats, or not. They're running out of time to make the decision to do it, if that's their ultimate decision. Soon it will be too late to save themselves from the fate of a Hillary presidency, and all that will mean.

Don't forget The Labor Day...

;) ;)

As the shoes keep falling, as they have done all day today, you might see all the Republican NeoLib support for Hillary, and opposition to Trump, melt away if they get a scent of victory and with it the notion that, in light of currently modified positions, that they can keep working on him..

;) ;)

You are just a partisan, Swiftboating tool. I'm certainly a whole hell of a lot more balanced and reality based than you are here.

Said literoticas biggest HRC cheerleader....

That's some funny shit right there :D

Silver has written a long article touching on the LA Times poll that deals more generally with the issue of polls that tend to have predictable leans.

Not sure what it means that phone polls have tended to favor Clinton while automated polls have tended to favor Trump.

It's more cheering against the other choices, not that you'd notice. (And not that I give a shit what you think.) Hillary can be president and not give up the store, regardless of your silly views on that. No one else running can.

Who are you voting for?

Even if I did waste my fuel and time to go pretend my vote matters my zipcode says Hillary gets my vote....no matter who I vote for.

So like most American's I'm just going to not give that much of a fuck about choosing between a couple of narcissistic sociopaths who are in it for themselves.

Unlike most Americans though I'm going to be diligently scamming and fucking the government for every penny I can.

Gotta buy off state Democrats so I can get from rich to disgustingly rich, they decide who gets to be 1%'ers and you can't get there without paying homage to the DNC first.

You know cuz they are for the working class and all?

LMFAO!! :D

Is it now? Then why are you defending her STILL in this very post. Gotta church her up EVERY chance you get don't you? LOL

Because you're one of if not the biggest HRC cheerleader on Lit. Which is fine IDK why you're so defensive about that other than the fact that she's a total piece of shit.

Hillary won't give up the store she'll sell it and we all know it....except you might have chugged enough Kool-Aid to actually be in denial about it.

I've said it for years, and I'll say it again: voting is easy for me, and I always get what I want.

While diaper baby voters cwy about poor candidates THEY made possible, I find the candidate favored by people I dislike and, if the pattern is consistent enough, I simply vote against that candidate. I then get the satisfaction of knowing I didn't vote their way. And, with that, I actually gain something out of the process - whereas, due to the nature of politics, many voters never do.

The retort I get usually amounts to, "You're voting for a stupid reason". There are two proper responses to this:

1. "So are you, gullible soul."
2. Many people vote using a similar philosophy. They're just too chickenshit to admit it.

I'm actually mostly the opposite (though much younger than you) I vote for who I like the most, though I might look at who I know I disagree with to point me in the right direction on occasion. Last election I didn't vote between the lesser or two evils, I voted for the good guy over the guy who was embarassed he was a good guy.

Yup, I can respect this.

Mine's more cynical, but hey, that fits my worldview.

Naw, I think it's just that I'm more experienced and responsible about national leadership than you are.

I don't know why you can't get through your thick little skull that we have few choices. I don't have to like the choices, but I don't have any trouble this time figuring out who can be president and not screw up everything. I've known that from the beginning of the primaries. HRC is the only one with the capability. The Republicans were all political midgets--some of them religious nuts; some of them just nuts. Bernie Sanders was an independent who is all talk, only able to sponsor two successful bills in Congress in two decades--both naming post office buildings--who was just trying to steal a party he'd done nothing for and that wasn't going to do anything for him (the released DNC e-mails neither surprised nor distressed me in their opposition to giving Sanders the nomination of a party he's done nothing for).

I don't have to like her or her husband. I'm looking for a national president, not a date.

I may grow to be where you are or where Bot is. I don't know what the future holds. I know that I'm not holding my nose to vote for Hillary so much as i am annoyed the rest of you can't catch up and give me Bernie. I'm annoyed even more we didn't get Hillary in '08 because an Obama v Bernie with Bernie winning and Obama carrying the torch is the kind of win that only happens in Anime.

Yeah, there's a significant difference between telephone polls with a human operator asking the questions and automated polls. I guess we'll find out eventually what that probably means, if anything. A lot of automated polls have Trump leading by a good margin. Some think that's because there's more of a feeling of anonymity, and therefore less reluctance to admit to favoring Trump.

It's nice to have a high opinion of oneself.

I don't know why you can't get through your thick little skull that we have few choices.

What makes you think I don't know that? Besides your over the top arrogance......

He likes me better. Called me "reactionary." I'm not sure that's been uttered for the last 35 years.

I'm trying to work my way up to "extremist."

Mind if I forward your posts to the IRS?

Just saw my very first Hillary bumper sticker. A small blue circle with just an H; it doesn't even have her name.

Same car had an anti-Trump sticker. That one said, "Stop Bigotry," and had a caricature of his hair.

Both stickers were kind of smart. No point in putting your opponent's name out there, and Hillary's name is poison, so you don't want to put that on the sticker either.

For Nate Silver fans

"Trump has a better chance of cameoing in another “Home Alone” movie with Macaulay Culkin — or playing in the NBA Finals — than winning the Republican nomination.”

– Nate Silver, July 16th, 2015.
