Hi Canadian, it is so nice hearing from you. I would love a pic of the sword. I have a client who is into studing medieval weapons. I will show him the pic and maybe he can help figure what it is.

Very kewl Berkley. Your right I never would have thought anyone else would ahve a sword in their bedroom. Are you mounted on the wall or hidden away in a closet? Where did you get yours? It is new to see that I'm not the only one who owns one.
I bought my set from a local knife and antique shop. They are new, full tang, and heavy stainless. United Cutlery does not make the matching Tanto though. I haven't mounted them but they are out and available. I try to practice with them a couple of times a week.

If my wife and I do seperate, as it looks like will happen :( , I probably will mount them on the wall in my new bedroom.

Do you work-out / practice with yours or is it a showpiece?

I have practiced with it but it is mostly a showpience. It belonged to my great grandfather. Since I have no brothers it came to me when my grandfather passed on. I would love to learn to use it but I have no time.

Sorry to hear that you may be seprating with your wife. That has to be hard. I hope things will work out.

That would be great Jade thanks. I will wrok on getting that pic as soon as possible. So how have you been spending your day. Come now lady share with us.

Thanks for your thoughts. It is difficult, especially since we have to stay in the same house until it sell. But, that maaaay give us time to work something out. I dunno tho...

Your great-grandfathers sword sounds cool. I am assuming it is Katana, would like t see a pic of it. Was he Samuri or military ( I think officers carried Katana w/o being Samuri )

Almost forgot; I also have a Teddybear that was my late sisters, and a 12" tall plush "Garfield" (okay... I'm weird... just remember; I have a sword and I know how to use it *lol* ) :D

Hi berkley, I hope that you can work things out with your wife. Thank you I think it is great having something that old. No my great grandfather was not a samuri. He did fight in the army agaisnt the Japanese when the invaded China and from the stories I have heard he took it in a battle of Luanxian.

Hi Jade, That is a very cool story about how the sword came to him. I think I must apologize though, I was thinking you were Japanese instead of Chinese. Or am I  , as usual

Hi Berkley, No need to apologize it was an honest mistake. Not sure if I told anyone on here this but I was born in Hong Kong and now live in Canada.

So Berkley what do you have planned for tonight? Tell me alittle about yourself?

Timezone check... What time is it there in Canada.

3.38 am here and i cant sleep.lol.

Nice to see you around again Jade.

Hi Solid, it is 10:45 pm here in my part of Canada but there are 5 other time zones here. So what have you been doing all day that has you wired at this late hour?

Hi Jade!! Welcome to Lit! I like your pics, you are so beautiful:heart:  . The fact that you have a sword is so cool;)

Hi Darkscribe, thank you for the warm welcome. I am really enjoying myself here at Lit. Everyone seems so nice. The sword was handed down to me when my gradfather passed away. When I was small I used to always want to play with it and pretend I was amazon warrior queen. He would never let me of course but he wanted me to have it after his passing.

My pans for tonight are to very soon be conducting a serious study of the inside of my eyelids. I stayed up far too late last night and I need to get up for work at about 6 am eastern.

I'm a born southerner who traveled some as a youngster. I had family in New York City and grew up as much in Greenwich Village as I did in North Carolina. I've been just over the border in upstate South Carolina about four years now.

I love boating and have a small cabin cruiser on the lake about 15 minutes from home. I enjoy music, science, fantasy, and science-fiction; been a Star Trek fan since it first aired (oh.. I'm carbon dating myself now *lol*) And of course I like edged weapons.

Right back everyone my doggie needs to go pottie.

First chance I have had to check out this thread. Very nice pics. Beautiful smile. Would love to see a few more.

To answer your question hongluobo, my family comes from Deyang which is near Chengdu. My fathers family that is my moms side of the family I'm not sure where they are from. She doesn't know allot about their history.
