Hi new here

Oh a southern, very romantic. I love reading about the history of the south. My all time favorite author is John Jakes and he has written some wonderful stories about the south. Well I have never got into Star Trek but I did love Quantum Leap.

You should check out the latest series "Enterprise". Scott Bakula portrays Capt. Johnathan Archer commanding the first Warp 5 capable starship. Set in 2151 it predates James Kirk by 112 years.

I enjoy southern history, too. I just haven't studied it as thoroughly as I should.

I love Labs. They are so much fun. There are about five of them at the boat club. No blacks, everyone likes the chocolats and blondes.

I will have to start checking out the tv and see when it is on Berkley. I hav always thought that Scott Bakula was so cute. I know what you mean I haven't done allot of research on my culture either. I have done allot on the southern way of life. It is just so interesting. Maybe we will have to start a role playing thread and have it set in the south in the 1800's.

Check out Star Trek.com to get the back story and episode synopsies. Also if you Yahoo, they have a television link where you can see who the UPN affiliate is in Ontario.

early 19th century south, hmmm. I could be the wealthy Welsh planter and you could be my serving wench. :D

LOL @ me being your serving wench. How about me being the prissy southern belle and you being my dim witted stable boy.

yesm Miz Jade.

BTW If you've seen "The Patriot" it was filmed in this area. Brattonsville is about five miles from where I live and the Battle of Cowpens took place about 30 miles from here.

LOL, I like the sounds of "yesz Miz Jade" lol. That was a great movie. The counrty side was so beautiful. I love nature and the outdoors. It would be so interesting to go around the area checking out the old homes and battle fields.

A lot of history in this area. Holding actions in the Kings Mountain area kept critical forces from joining with Cornwallis at Cowpens and the battle of Cowpens was a turning point in the southern campaign. As depicted forcing Cornwallis back in retreat until he was trapped by the French naval blockade. Had the revolutionary forces not defeated Cornwallis at Cowpens he would have been able to forge through North Carolina and Virginia creating a pincer with the northern campaign and crushing Washington's troops.

Lordy, it's nearly 12:30 I'm gonna be dead at work tomorrow.

See you do know some fo your history. Sorry to keep you up so late. What is it you do?

So have you taken part in any role playing threads? If so what do you think of my idea about one set in the south between 1800 and 1865?

I work for the Natural Gas Authority in York County, SC. I run the warehouse. But I'm a bit of a jack of all trades. Back in Winston-Salem I "drove gasoline tankers for a livng and went into burning buildings for fun".

A jack of all trades must be good with your hands. Run into burning building for fun? My kind of fun would be bbqing lol

I haven't done any role playing. I've only been chatting for a couple of months.

I love getting people with that line. :D I was a volunteer firefighter for 12 years. I like to grill out and BBQ and I like to think I'm good with my hands... and other things :p

Hi Canadian, Things are going wonderful. Oh I forgot to ask why did your ex take the head board? lol

Well if I start a role playing thread you have to join ok Berkley. Now that makes more sense. Love to sit out side and the smell of bbq in the air. Hmm good with your hands and other things?

Jade, you are getting close to your 100th post. Have you got an AV picked out?

No I don't have one picked out yet but I have been looking. There are a few I like.

I'm not sure about role playing, when I was in Drama in school I was Awful at improv. lol

Hey cutie, well you see she took the head board I believe because she wanted to remember all the times I made her bounce off it lol. No she was a nut and evil. I'm not sure I just know that she took the head board, coffee pot, all the cd's and anything else that she felt I might have wanted.
