Hidden Passion (Closed)

"I thought you`d be excited. I want to run throught he forest with the excitement of being chased by the one I love." He brushed a strand of hair out of her face as he waited for her answer.

She smiled nuzzling against his hand as he brushed her hair back.

We could do that...

When?

He looked at her with a mischievious look in his eye, "Well.. I was thinking we could do it.... NOW!" He turned and ran out the door and headed for the tree line.

He was a pretty fast runner. All of his friends called him rabbit and told him that he could eventually get into the Olympics.

He cad caught her off guard so he got his little bit of a head start before she shifted to one of her feline form... opting for mountain lion in case there are others out hunting or whatever. A feline from the region would be better. She stalked out of the house and sniffing at the air she snarled softly catching his scent and began bounding that way... not in any real hurry though... a fast human is still no match for a predatory feline.

Running through the woods, he began to wonder where he could go. There were several places to run to and hide, and one in specific came to mind. He turned left and saw an old oak tree with thick hanging ivy on it.

Pushing past the ivy, he saw an opening in the ground, at the base of the tree. The opening lead to a mid sized space under the roots of the tree. It had probaly been a large foxes den at one point.

Slipping inside, he enter the den and looked around. The den was circular and had a diameter of 8 feet with a height of 5 feet.

She quickly sniffed at the ground and air as she ran catching bits of scent here and there... enough to give her a basic path to follow. She prevented herself from the desire to roar out as she stalked finding the ivy laden tree and sniffing around it.

James thought he heard light footfalls outside. Had she tracked him that fast already. He was trapped in here, the opening being the only way in or out.

The mountain lioness stuck her head through the ivy and sniffed a few times... she knew he was there but decided to trick him as she moved away from the area or so it sounded.

Looking around, he thought he heard the footfalls retreat. Hesitantly, he climbed out of the mini cavern and arrived under the tree branches. Suddenly he had a feeling that someone or something was behind him.

Once he cleared the ivy a paw placed squarely on his back as she roared out.

He turned around and jumped in surprise at the roar. Instinctively taking a step backwards, he smiled at her. "Well now. That was quick."

Another growl emanated from her as she could see past him to the hunter running towards them apparently thinking he needed to save the young man.

He turned and sighed in frustration at the sight of a hunter running towards them. Great, something to ruin a perfect day.

Turning to Essence she spoke, "Go. Hide somewhere. I`ll deal with him."

At first crouching almost worried the hunter would hurt him too she snarled crouching ready to attack. She tilted her head hearing his words and snorted but hoped he was right. She turned running as fast as she could.

Turning towards the hunter, he sighed again. This hunter looked just like all of his uncles and he knew that this man would be the stupid, uneducated, hick.

The man apporached, "Oie sonny. Wer`d tat damn lion got to.. eh?

"I don`t know sir. I just walked up to me then ran off. I guess it was wondering what I was doing here."

"I ain`t got any idea wha`cha mean. Damn stoopid animals got to leaned them place in tha world. Oie! How bout me an me cousin Buck help you. We lookin round till we kills it?"

Yeah, just like his uncles. He could barely understand what the man had said. "Umm... no sir. I think it`s best if we just leave it alone. Thanks anyway." Then he left the man and headed back home.

A shot rang out followed by a mountain lion roar and then someone screaming scared to death.

She managed to get back to the house unhurt but not before having to terrify another hunter. To hide from the hunters she shifted to her house cat form and curled up in front of the door when he arrived.

The redneck flinched as a gunshoot went off, followed by a lion`s roar. "God Damn! Thad be Buck! Him must ave got that lion he did!" Then the redneck ran off towards the direction where the shot had come from.

Avellan sighed continued to make his way towards the house.

She sat there balled up in house cat form trying to calm her nerves and her temper sunning herself timing to see if he came back to the house or if she would have to hunt him again.

He made it back to the house after several minutes. When he got to his yead, he was glad to see Essence curled up as a house cat. He slowly approached, "Essence? Are you ok?"

Leaping at him the house cat seemed to smile. planning on landing either on his shoulder or in his arms.

Instinctively, he reached out and caught her in his arms. He smiled down at her and whispered, "I`m sorry for what happened. Bill and Buck, Buck and Bill.... Dumbasses. Anyways, I`m sorry that our fun was ruined."

He held her close to his chest and walked into the house, "Lets go get something to eat."

She curled up in feline form for now content to be carried though when he mentioned food she perked up a little looking around

He gently set her down on the table then headed towards the frig. Pulling out a steak, he set it on the counter and turned on the oven, "We have a lot here and the dead deer will provide enough meat for several days."

Shifting forms she now sat there legs crossed watching him smiling softly.

I can get us more whenever you like. Do you ever go anywhere with the friend you spoke with in the phone thing when I first got here?

He glance up at her, "Yes, actually it`s a good thing you said something. We`re going to a bar. I should be there i about an hour."

He turned off the oven and put away the steak, "You wan to come along and meet my friend?"
