Eiji noticed that Tetsuru had taken his hand, but didn't freak out Why do I feel so calm right now?

'About those wings, Eiji,' Tetsuru asked, 'do you think there might be some way for you to retract them or make them vanish? Don't you think you're going to have a hard time with them around all the time?'

Eiji scratched the back of his head with his free hand. "I... I don't know... Maybe, maybe Reese can help me..."

Tetsuru merely smiled. She was walking with Eiji and holding his hand. For a few moments, she could at least PRETEND she was his girlfriend...

She walked in silence, a small, attractive blush painting her cheeks as they reached Eiji's home.

"Um, Eiji," she asked nervously, squeezing his hand instinctively, "do you mind if I come in and say hello to your sister? I don't really know many girls in the area, since I just moved here..."

...and even if I did, none of them would be able to tell me what I want to know... but you don't have to know that, Eiji! Ho ho ho!

Yoshiro glanced over at Lea, shyly. "S-Sure..." He was nervous again.

Darn... I was hoping I could take her up on her suggestions in my dre... erk! I didn't think that!!

"Um," he managed, "thanks for spending time with me... I hope we can do this again sometime..." Softly, he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek, and then stood, offering her a hand to help her up.

"Yeah, I don't think she would mind if you did." Eiji said with an assuring smile, knowing his sister liked to talk to people. he stopped at his house Here already?

IC: I extended my hand but then I thought back to his wamr soft touch and the horible results in the dream I better not. I pushed on the ground and got up. "Sorry but, please don't tell any one about what happened tonight."

OOC: Hy please don't have Eiji read this in there minds. Thank you.

"G-Great!"

Tetsuru smiled and blushed slightly brighter as they approached the door, since she was still holding Eiji's hand. Don't let go... don't let go... I want somebody to see! Ho ho ho!

She knocked on the door...

OOC
Hy, I think you're gonna have to take control of this, since I don't know what Eiji's house looks like. ;)

Yoshiro flushed as she rejected his hand and stood up, and then flushed brighter as she told him not to mention what had passed.

"I... I see..." he said quietly. "I wish... you weren't ashamed that you spent time with me."

To his horror, he found himself getting somewhat angry. But... it's cruel of her... I have no idea what she wants!

He jammed his hands in his pockets and glanced away, his brow furrowed. Lea could almost feel his shield of bravado reassembling around him. "...huh," he muttered, apparently more to himself than anyone else. "Did you think I would brag about it or something? I'm not that kind of guy..."

Damn it. Happiness to ruin... always...

For some odd reason, there was no answere "Odd..." Eiji began to knock, "Nothing? Something isn't right here..." Eiji taken a shuriken out of one of his holders, and jimmied the lock, "It shouldn't even be locked...'

Eiji finaly got to open the door and walked in. The lights were out so the whole room was pitch black.

"Eiji? Is that you Moon?"

"Yeah, its me Mai." Eiji said, letting go of Tetsuru's hand, lucky for Eiji, it was pitch black so Tetsuru or Mai could see his huge blush.

Tetsuru sighed as he let go. Aww, foiled again, as usual!

"Hey, Mai," she said, smiling despite the dark. "What's going on here? Why's it so dark?"

I hope she isn't in the middle of something...

IC: Dang it now he has to make me feel all bad. "Look Yoshiro. You did nothing wrong today" If you did I wouldn't of woken up next to you thats for shure. "But my parents would kill me if they found out. That and I had a bit of a vision that scared me. So please for both our sakes go and don't be mad."

Yoshiro blushed. O-Oh... He felt his bravado fade like smoke against the breeze.

He cleared his throat and looked back at Lea, embarassed. "I... I see, I'm sorry. I thought..." He scratched his head and looked away, now blushing slightly. "...I was afraid you were unhappy with me, is all. But, as long as you aren't, then I have nothing to worry about..."

He looked up, smiling. "I'll go. Thank you, Lea. I hope I see you soon..."

And with that, he departed, standing noticably straighter than usual.

Lee

IC: '...then I have nothing to worry about.' You may not but my mind has given me pleanty to worry about. I watch Yoshiro walk out then I go to my room and catch some sleep.

"Oh hi Tetsuru! Grampa goofed up again, he tried to fix an burnt out light, and this happened!"

Eiji sighed he knelt down and felt the flor, "Okay, I found the emergency switch." He said as the lights came back on.

Mai smiled happily as she Saw Tetsuru. The place seemed like an old edo stlye manison, of course, every manison has its secrets. "So, what bring you here Tetsuru?"

Tetsuru smiled widely. She was older than Mai, but she liked the younger girl already. Seemed very friendly... she probably wouldn't be protective of Eiji, then... which was good, since she didn't want to alienate his sister or frighten her.

"Well, Eiji came over to my place for dinner, so I thought I would stop by and check out his house. And, truthfully, I wanted to talk to you." Tetsuru grinned and chuckled. "Eheh! I don't know many girls in my neighborhood, so I was hoping we could chat for a while, unless you're busy."

Hopefully, Eiji has something to do...

"Oh sure Tetsuru! That would be great!" Mai smiled, she knew that it would be relife for Eiji. "Oh Moon, did you go to Sirriaco city today?"

"Yeah?"

"Well there is some kid here saying that he knows Julie, he has been looking for you. Maybe you should talk to him. Come on Tetsuru I know a place where we can talk."

Tetsuru smiled in thanks and let Mai lead her off to a different spot. She found a place to sit down and sighed.

"Um, Mai," she began, and then blushed slightly. How can I do this? His younger sister! This was not such a good idea... she's going to think I'm weird... but if she can help me, then I have to try...

She swallowed, and tried again. "Mai, your brother... umm... he... I want to... um..."

Smooth, Princess Useless.

Tetsuru cleared her throat, but found herself unable to speak. She was blushing too deeply.

"Is there something wrong Tetsuru?" Mai said, sitting on the roof top was always relzxing for herself and Eiji. "Your face look like an cherrie blossum right now!"

***

"Sparrow?"

"Ah Moon! You're finaly here!"

"Don't call me that, I only let My little sister call me that"

Tetsuru looked down at the shingles and sighed. Might as well get it out...

"I like your brother," she said softly. "I like him a lot. Um, you know." She tilted her head away, so she wouldn't have to see Mai's expression. "But... I can't get him to notice me. I always thought I was, well, kind of pretty, but Eiji doesn't seem to be interested." She turned back to Mai, a look of helplessness and shame in her eyes. "Mai... do you know anything I can do to get your brother to like me?"

Why do I have to be so weak-kneed! I'm not normally like this! Mai's going to think I'm some sort of pansy... that I'm weak... and I'm not! I don't need guys! I never have!

...so why am I trying so hard to get Eiji...

Mai giggled and looked into the moon, "You know, I seen alot of girls tried to aproch Eiji, but your the first to ask me..."

"A... a lot of girls, huh?"

Tetsuru flushed and looked down at the shingles again. What, did you think you would be the first? Come on! You're attractive, strong, and a good cook! You can't lose!

...can you?

She sighed and shook her head. "I'm sorry... I feel kind of silly, but..." She turned back to Mai. "...something draws me to him. I need to know if... if I have a chance..."

She leaned to Mai slightly, the moonlight reflecting off the serious look on her pretty face. The breeze ruffled her white blouse and chilled her, but she didn't notice. "Mai, do you think your brother ought to have a girlfriend? And do you think there might be... any way to his heart?"

"Well, to tell the truth," Mai said, looking back at the moon, "Eiji doesn't like getting close to people all that much, I guess that its because he grew up defending himself..." Mai shook her head, "But he let you get close to him." she said smiling, "I think ghe likes you!"

**

"So, you're actualy my age? Eiji said, a bit surprized"

"Yeah, that hag put a spell on me since she mad at my parents."

Yoshiro opened the door to their apartment, glancing around curiously in the dark. Well, she's not home, and she's shut off to contact. We've been spending a lot of time shut off, as soon as we got here... I wonder if our embarassment about our other relationships is drawing us apart...

Sighing, he plopped down on his tattered seat, turned on the television, and glanced at the bowls.

Hey... Tetsuru had company...

"...huh," said Yoshiro.

Am I... jealous, all of a sudden? I have no right to be, but... it's true, even I draw away from her at times. I need to re-establish contact with her...

<<--->>

Tetsuru blushed deeply and looked over at Mai, her mouth open. "You... you think so?" She cleared her throat and glanced away. "I mean, I'm just used to having guys who like me chase me down and try to hit on me. Where I come from, that's generally what happens. Eiji seems to be... not distant, but... somehow either oblivious, or always resisting for some reason. Eiji gives me what I crave -- the respect of fighter to fighter. But he doesn't seem to want, um..." She instinctively glanced down at her chest, and then remembering Mai was there, flushed and looked away.

I wonder what Mai thinks of me? According to the magazines, I'm what a girl is supposed to look like... Father made me so... I have to make sure I don't say anything to make her feel inferior, because she isn't... she's a sweet girl...

"Mai," Tetsuru said softly, "I'm curious... if there's any course of action you recommend I take. I want to... make Eiji my boyfriend." She turned back to look at Eiji's younger sister. "How can I get him to open up to me, to see how I feel... to stop resisting me?"

"Well," Mai said, scratching the back of her slowly "I think he's both oblivious, and resistant. It took two years for him to trust grampa... The only advice I can tell you is, to be patient, its hard for him to trust people. It may take a bit, but thats the only way I know."

***

Eiji leaned back, and sighed. "So what do you need from me Sparrow?"

"I seen you fight, I want you to train me."

"What?"

"I didn't studder did I?"

"Listen, I can't train you, it would be too tough for me."

"Why?"

"Because you no experiance of fighting!"

"I did, but the curse made me forget how, I need to know how to fight an dark art so I can get into the shadow dimension!"

"The... Shadow dimension?"

Tetsuru sighed. "Waiting, huh..."

She placed her hands on the roof and looked up at the moon. "Oh, Eiji..." She barely realized she had sighed that aloud. "I don't want to wait..." A blush slowly crept through her cheeks and down her body. "I thought I was getting somewhere at my apartment, but I was interrupted..."

She looked up at Mai, and smiled. "Thank you, Mai." She reached out and took the younger girl's hand. "You've given me hope. If there's anything you ever need from me, don't hesitate to ask." She grinned and glanced sidelong at Mai. "Hopefully I will be seeing more of you, eh...?"

Mai put her knees to her chest, and her head on her knees. "Yes, maybe we will..." If I have my way... we definetly will be able to get to know each other better! I can't let my only blood fall for the wrong person now can I?

*** Two days ago***

Eiji slept peacfuly on a chair, he acidently dozed off studying. Some body slowly, stealthly, snuck up behind him. The shadow quickly put her arms around Eiji choking awake "Gak!!!"

"Well, now that I finnaly got your attention, may I ask you a favor?"

"Mai! Let go of me now!"

"No way! We made an agreement that if you lost that bet on the big game last Monday, you train me!"

"Well I lost, so I am. WHy are you choking me!?"

"Oh come now! Did you really think I was that gulible? you'll have to PROMISS!" Mai said, putting the grip around Eiji's neck tighter"

"Gak! Ok ok! I promiss!!!"

Mai let go, "Thats better!"

Eiji shot up from the chair, his face flaming red. "Lession one, never attack a person, and let go until he or she is down or dead!" Eiji said, his eyes on blue fire.

"Uh-oh..."

***

Mai shuddered. the next thing she knew after the incident, she was hanging upside down drenched in the Miso soup Eiji made earlyer.
