"Historic Storm"

Actually shithead, I started the thread to mock the idea that this was an "historic storm," it wasn't so I'm right. Like, how could it be "historic" when it hadn't happened yet? Just another excuse for big government to come to everyone's rescue and overreach, as usual.

In your op, you don't use *mock* or *historic storm*. But take that victory lap, tubby.

Once again:

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani actually defended de Blasio for his caution. “Never criticize someone for over-preparing,” he said, “because the next time you might not prepare as well and we’ll all be upset.”

Once again...it wasn't an historic storm. It didn't warrant the panic, the economic destruction that panic caused...period.

What economic destruction? Some shops sold out their stock, some shops closed early, some people missed a day of work and canceled any evening plans outside the home . . . all of which still would have happened if government had done nothing. Now the shops will re-stock and everybody will go back to work, and nobody will be saying three months from now, "Damn! I could make ends meet right now if it weren't for that damned snowstorm back in January!"

6000 flights cancelled, stock market ravaged, lost manhours, transportation shut down, etc. The New York subway system shut down for the first time in history on a weather report.

You're right, we should never, ever prepare for storms that might alter course and turn out to be less than expected.

Make sure you pass on this sage advice to the states who warn the public about incoming hurricanes. After all, they might just turn out to sea and all of that preparation will be for nothing. Or it might not and thousands die.

Meh, fuck 'em.. They should have prepared anyway.

Your CUNT, the then GOVERNOR of New Oh! Leanz agree

Go fuck yourself DizzyBooby. Your numerous name changes don't erase you from my permanent ignore list.

Racist fuckstick.

Did Governor Cuomo let New Yorkers know when they could wipe their asses as well??? Just wonderin' since there's obviously nothing but children in the city and no adults around that know how to survive 30 inches of snow.:rolleyes:

Liberals are always looking for ways to declare a fucking emergency so they can tell people how to get through it.
It's nothing less than "soft martial law" as I call it. They're seeing who will obey. The pseuds in media & social media who hype every precipitation even with the "pocalypse" and "maggeddon" suffixes don't help.

That's just the hype and by now people should be ignoring it. I mean for Christsakes we're calling the deflation of footballs Deflategate. We have a news media that's based around making money, we can't blame them for operating like a business.

I certainly intend to blame them when their bad acts have negative consequences. "Operating like a business" has limits.

Not in America it doesn't. And the negative consequences was basically limited to this thread. The precautions they took were quite in order of what should have been done.

Yeah, if your aim is to gauge the receptiveness of the populous to soft martial law.

Imagine if they declared a snowmageddon in Buffalo every time they got lake effect snow.

The populous shouldn't really have a problem with reasonable martial law. Or at the very least there should be an understanding that the government gets to send out 'You're on your own bitches' alerts and if you get trapped in the snow they get to leave you to freeze to death.

Stock market ravaged? Who's making unfounded hyperbolic predictions now?

What was Sandy? If not a weather report. It's not like the snow wasn't already falling when the actual curfew went into effect and I imagine if the snow had been either super light or non-existent they wouldn't have shut everything down. So I dont' know the difference because I'm an idiot. Educate me.
