Historical Crushes

Just finished a book by a British genealogist who claims Jesus marreid Mary Magdelen, had children, and after his death, Mary fled to France and then to Ireland with their children. So, says he, there are descendants of Jesus living today, in Ireland.

Any Biblical scholars out there with similar views?

I don't know but I'm reading Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice. Check it out. :rose:

Jesus Christ used to hang out in Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley a while back. At least he said he was Jesus Christ.

I've read that one, too. Good book, but a bit out of character for Anne rice.

Hi, Doc. Yeah there are several reincarnations of him from time to time.

Well, she certainly did some good research for 'Out of Egypt'.

How's your heath these days, girl. You were having a bit of a problem earlier, weren't you?

Yeah, it took her quite some time to research completely.

I'm getting better. Got my ups and downs, but...it's all good. :rose: Thanks for asking, you hunk of a man, you. :)

Oh how many times I've heard that....

You just haven't felt the right 'THIS' yet.

<maybe we ought to give this thread back to the topic>

I'm over in FTFs place

Hmm, my asexual historical crushes would probably have been Jean d'Arc, Ol' Willy Shakespeare, Pericles, and probably either Sappho, Theano, or Hypatia.

And probably most of the women on this list:

The closest I've ever come to an historical crush was Pallas Athene.

You know how I dig wisdom. ;)

I'm serious. I've always thought of myself as a fairly smart person (I did graduate up close to the top of my high school class anyway)... but ever since coming here, I've found that I have absolutely nothing to contribute to any of the more serious conversations. More often than not, I'm totally lost.

I'll let you in on a secret, Crim. I'm faking it a lot. ;)

Aennchen Von Thorau IF the song about her is correct.

Lady Smith, Juana, wife of General Sir Harry Smith - she after whom the town of Ladysmith was named.

Pocohontas, the real person, not the Disney version.

Queen Salote of Tonga

The Queen of Sheba

Nefertiti - woman's got everything: power, money, beauty...
Amelia Earhart - not exactly a classic beauty, but I've always had a thing for tomboys, and I love flying....yeah, I'd help her join the "mile high" club if I could.

as far as historical figures I'd just like to have a beer with, the number one slot goes to Heron of Alexandria.
