The Definitive Deak Taylor

Right, folks!

Unless anyone has any objections, below is Deak's history:

Edward Taylor and the first wife lived in Europe with her parents.

For a long while, they had been tried for a baby with no result. Along came John Carmody with baby Deak.

However, that was not the end of their troubles.

His wife, an emotionally weak and physically frail woman, was still heavily influenced (if not controlled) by her strong-willed parents, to the point that they were interfering in their lives on a daily basis (especially with Deak’s upbringing). For a long time, Edward had tried to put up with this. However, if there was ever a disagreement, his wife always sided with her parents.

Finally he had a job opportunity in America (they were in Europe) which he wanted to accept and take his family with him. But Mrs Taylor would not leave her parents. In the end, although it broke his heart, he realised that he could never win and so went on his own. Eventually, he divorces her when he meets Marie.

Deak was left to be raised by his mother and his grandparents. His mother never got over Edward leaving. First she was just bitter but that quickly grew into hatred (with the help of her parents).

Not surprisingly that in that sort of environment, Deak turned out hating his father and blaming him for all their troubles.

Then about a year ago, his mother committed suicide. In a letter that she left Deak, she explained the "real" reason why his father had left them. That Deak is not their real son. That once they adopted him, his father decided he didn’t want him and tried to force her to give him up. When she wouldn’t, he left taking all their savings with him and that leaving her had broken her heart.

Of course, this made Deak hate his father even more, to the point that he wanted revenge. He got his grandmother to contact Edward and tell him what had happened. That Deak wanted to go over to America to start a new life. Of course Edward, now married to Marie, wanted to help and offered to put him up.

************

That was how Deak is living with his father’s new family in Fair Harbor. However, he still wants revenge on his father on what he has done to his mother but he is patient and so a year quickly goes by as he gets his new family to love him.

Now he starts taking out his revenge.

Marie Taylor He knows how much Edward loves his stepmother, Marie. He also knows how lonely she is due to his long absences. So he goes after her. The resulting encounter(s) (that's up to you, MT) leaves her pregnant (contraception is unsophisticated in 1942 and I can’t see Deak bothering to wear a condom). He plans to use this against Edward.

Maisy Taylor The only thing he doesn’t bank on is that his feelings for Edward’s stepdaughter, Maisy. He is jealous of her and Frank’s relationship (hence why he is trying to break them up).

Maggie Sinclair When he finds out that he is heir to the Sinclair fortune, of course he takes advantage of it. Though he will most likely harbour resentment towards Maggie (his mother) for (in his eyes) rejecting him. Faith, we will need to work out how they meet and how they find out about Deak's true identity.

The war As you see in my posts, he is already involved with shady individuals. He may even be involved with organisations working towards undermining America's involvement in the war (though I am still working on this).

Is this the definitive Deak above?...John Carmody needs to know!

Also we are in desperate need of a new Nels Bronson...any ideas?

All right - Maggie falls into the clutches of the notorius Weiler. I can deal with that. I warn you, Faith, she's in for a nasty time. Maybe the sheriff could track them down to the beachhouse. Kill the Nazi and save Maggie. Who knows, saving her might spark a relationship between the two.

Now, we just need to get Maggie in a car, driving past where the Nazi is hidden...

Jehanox & Faith

Jehanox... sounds good... you've tied up all the loose ends... Marie Taylor's pregnancy is classic soap-stuff.

As for him falling for Maisy... good plan...

I thought he'd end up using his new money and position to further himself selfishly so to speak.

I'm happy with this senario... so we've decided that Edward ended up divorcing his first wife I take it?

M.T.

Okay everyone hold on to your hats...

Maggies on the move. She's in the car because it's raining. This gives our nazi a reason for a trench coat to help him avoid detection if he needs it...

Her purse is in the passenger seat along with her utility bills from the beach front property. Maggie would not give the nazi the address and he wouldn't know where she lived or about this secluded place she has on the sly unless there was an outside clue.

Maggie is not Sophie. Maggie is more refined. Better educated. She will see the nazi as being equally intellegent. He is an officer right? Maggie may very well suffer abuse at his hands but she will not invited abuse as a dare. The nazi will care nothing for her. He would kill her with out a second thought if he felt it was in his best interest. She would want him to see her as a asset, but not in a sexual way. Maggie has suffered abuse at Andrew's hand and she survived...She knows if she keeps her head on straight she will survive this too.

So tornado meet me out front of the tradewinds

We need to see how to proceed from here:

Is sheriff Earl going to save the day?
Will the Nazi escape to the docks, steal the cutter and ram the Quincy?
Have Maggie and Earl been secretly involved?
How will Deak lay claim to the fortune?
Maggie does not know that Deak's her son. Will she find out by accident...or will Deak enjoy a game of cat and mouse before he stakes his claim.....

For the answer to these burning questions tune in tomarrow....same bat time, same bat channel....

sorry couldn't help myself....

Really I could use some imput so I know which way to head with maggie...

AS always I am completely open to Ideas...I work best when someone gives me something to run with...(I just don't always know when to stop...)

I leave that up to you guys
:D

Deak

Right, everyone.

I have put some finishing touches on Deak's history. For an update, see my post headed The Definitive Deak.

The main thing I have changed is it that the first Mrs Taylor does commits suicide and leaves a note explain her own version of events to the boy.

The next thing that needs to be worked out is how do Maggie and Deak meet, how do they find out about their true relationship (as mother and son)? How do they react with this information?

I will need a little help from you, Faith. Though I can't see anything happening soon since both our characters are involved in their own sub-plots.

Also, Faith, do you know how long Maggie has been living in town? You might have gone over this before and if so, I apologize for asking for a repeat. I'm wondering how and when she and Earl and/or Andrew might have met. That'll color some of the actions or reactions that our frustrated police chief has. I'm thinking he might have already had a run-in with Deak, whaddya think Jehanox?

New Info. on Maggie

Maggie has live in Fair Harbor off and on for years. She has also travelled internationally. This is the place she thinks of as home. Her family and Andrew's family are in business together. Andrew was CEO of Sinclair Industries, a prime employeer in the area. Maggie's family had money through the shipping industry, most of her family fortune was lost in the "stock market crisis back a few year's ago"

When it came to Maggie, Andrew was like a Two year old with a toy. Most of the time the "toy" was thown into a corner and ignored, but if someone tried to play with it, he would cry," mine!"
It also means if the "toy" didn't preform to his expectaions, he wasn't above making sure it payed the price.

He expected Maggie to be the perfect accessory but...and this is a pretty big but...the lifestyle they lived meant they were apart at least part of the time. Maggie has access to some money that is hers, not big money, but enough to allow her to have a few secrets from Andrew. . .

Namely the Beach Front Property...a very small secluded place, small porch, front door opens into one room with lots of windows..one small bedroom, a kitchen the size if a postage stamp, plus the bath. This is Maggies haven...It is her studio. The fact that this is hers and that she spends time here is NOT common knowlege

The question is how observent the sheriff is... Most people accept the public persona the Sinclair family project...Mr. and Mrs. Perfecy Couple...Andrew is a perfectly charming man. All the head brass will tell you so....John knows the truth of the matter...What Earl knows is up for grabs.

We would have met.... community obligations...fund raisers etc... we may have even served on some commitees together...but it's unlikely that we moved in the same social circles

Captainb : How's that for a background? It really is up to you on how much the sheriff knows. I see him as a basicly good man, doing a hard job and succeding. The way you've portraited him, I don't think there'd be too many secrets, dirty, little, or otherwise, that would slip by him. That's just my spin on things...lol

Jehanox :I like your spin on Deaks background! I agree with Captainb on the idea of the sheriff and Deak having had a few run-ins. As for making the connection don't forget about the painting in the apartment and the birthmark...a cresent moon over his heart.

Anyone who want's in here's your chance! : I have to bury Andrew...There maybe people not normally in Maggies apartment showing up there to bring food, give condolences etc. That would give some very observant people the opportunity to see the painting of the baby with the cresent moon birthmark and more than a few would be aware that Deak has the exact same birthmark. Deak doesn't seem to be a modest kinda' guy...lol

assuming I survive the nazi....good post tornado!

Brilliant plot twists!

Faith... this is going to be brilliant.

I'm going to send Mrs Marie Taylor over to give her regards... she's the community's sweet soul and I expect it would be in her nature to bring something to comfort the bereaved.

It would seem that she would know about Deak's birthmark better than anyone. At this very moment she is bathing his wounds so at the very least she knows NOW about it... [grins]... I wonder how she'll react when she sees the painting. Most people deny things that seem to unbelievable even when it's right in their faces.

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW THIS PANS OUT!!

Jehanox... what do you think? Does Deak take advantage and does he get to have his way with Marie?

Stay tuned!

Two words: Good Idea

Captainb: Good idea about the run ins with the Police Chief. However, I see Deak as a bit of a crafty character and I suggest although the Chief has his suspicions, he can't make anything stick (I wonder what sort of things Deak has been up to?). For the time being, Deak's family should know nothing about his shifty goings on.

Faith: Good idea about having a wake. I think Frank and Maisy should go too.

MT: Good idea idea that Marie visits Maggie's apartment to pay her respects (I suggest Maisy and Frank go with her?). I thinks she should be the one to make the connection between the picture and Deak. Especially as I can't see Deak visiting (why would he?). As far as Marie and Deak getting it on. Their present situation is a great opportunity but I leave the ball in your court. I know that Deak's going to have a damn good try. ;)

Ok, I admit it - I'm confused. (Ari, don't even say anything!) Can some one be so kind as to tell me what time of day it is? Early afternoon, late afternoon?

Thank you!

Hiya, Chele!

On the last page of the thread, Jack Becker makes the time as about 2:00p. Hope that helps?

As Toni posts, it will be shortly after 5:00p.

Frank Jnr

Ariosto, Faith & Tornado.

Frank has been moaning to me (since I am his manager) that I am spending too much time on Deak and wants a bit of the action himself.

In true soap fashion, could we have Frank knocked down walking to the Diner by Maggie's car (while a prisoner of Weiler)?

I am not suggesting that he has to die...

eh hem

Frank is bemoaning lack of action?

He gets to kiss Maisy damn it... what more does he want? He's like the lead romantic male!

Seriously!

:D

Kidding... if he wants to get run over by a moving vehicle... so be it... who am I to interfer?

[lol]

Also... with time moving forward so quickly... I mean I'm assuming it's around 5pm now? I'm a little confused by some earlier posts... is the party on tonight? Or tomorrow? Or are there two parties with BIG one tomorrow?

Also... I'm assuming that the Taylor household would be offerring to have at least one if not two service men come over for dinner from the Quincy... would this be a safe assumption?

Also... I really really hope that Frank Jnr doesn't die yet.

I seem to remember Ari saying that the main party is tomorrow night.

Actually, I have had another word with Frank Jnr and basically put him in his place and that his time will come (hopefully not to die).

Seriously, I was just thinking in typical soap fashion where every time things look like they are going to go well, along comes a something which upsets the applecart (and I love upsetting the applecart). This is a good opportunity.

Though, I am equally happy for Frank Jnr to develop his relationship with Maisy further (though it would be nice if they start interracting with other characters).

Character For Sale Or Rent....

Sorry, folks, but I can't continue on this thread. I'm SO confused as to what is going on, with whom, where, how - you name it. Nothing is making sense to me, and I can't even see any sort of plot developing, other than the numerous sub-plots which have developed and are overly confusing to wade through.

Therefore, I am bowing out as Claire. She has not been active since like page 4 or something, so her presence won't be missed. If there is some one who would like to take on the part, go for it - have fun.

But for me, I just can't right now.

Sorry ~

SexyChele

Sorry to see you go. Was looking forward to interacting with you too. :(

Colonel Thor

......as the B-17 with the name "Claire" on the nose (used to be California 'dreamin) began a slow roll - a death spiral - from 17,000', the pilot looked out the shattered glass of the cockpit. At his orders, the last surviving crew member - tail gunner Anderson - bailed out of the stricken craft. The last pass by ME-109's had administered the coup de gras. The raid on Schweinfurt had been a disaster. The wing had suffered over 30% casualties. Colonel Thor, mortally wounded by cannon fire, struggled to right the '17. Blood had almost blinded him, but with his last strength, he wrenched the plane momentarily out of the spin. He nursed the one remaining engine and then steepened the dive. His last memory - as the plane crashed into the sprawling ball bearing plant - was of Claire and the brief moments they shared on that night so long ago.

The citation read..."Colonel Thor Gunderson, disregarding his own safety, completed his mission and then managed to keep his striken aircraft aloft long enough for his surviving crew to bail out. For conspicuous gallantry well beyond the call of duty, Colonel Gunderson is awarded the Silver Star. A grateful country thanks him."

Chele and Thor...

Really sorry to see both of you go.

Let's see if we can get a bit back on track here?

Tonight is "dinner at home" with sailors from the Quincy and a get-together at the USO.

"Tomorrow night" is the big dance.

Still looking for some new players, male and female. Any takers? You can message me or PM me for help/ideas etc. if you'd like to jump in?

Marvel

Moneytalks

Have been trying to PM you but your box is full.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss the music. ;)

Tibvo

Hey darlin'... I didn't realise... will clear out my box immediately... err... yes... [lol]

As for the music... WELL... happy to provide that... have an abundant supply of the mind-altering stuff as you well know.

Also... sorry to see Thor & Claire leave... hope this doesn't stop the thread moving onwards... enjoying it immensely... but have noticed a slow down recently.

MT

Thanks, MT.

Still sad that you have changed your avatar (she was so sexy dancing to your MT music).

What made you choose the evil Jeannie in preference to the good one? Though I do like both of them.

Hmmmm.

I agree with you about the HF though. I think it has died, let alone slowed right down.:(

P.S. Any ideas to the answer of my trivia question? You out of anyone should know. ;)

Answer to Trivia Question:

Money Talks made in 1997!

Aww sweety... that was like a Trivia Question in homage to me??? [huggerz]

As for avatar... the other one is still around... will slip back again later I'm sure.

Chose the evil Jeannie because she was a brunette like myself and because she had more fun... unfortunately she didn't get to wear the pink outfit though... my favorite colour pink... [winks]
