Hot Wheels

I love the Mercedes "Buttster" with the tow (I'm guessing that's a 190 model right?) That bright red Buick (with the Burger King symbol grille) is pretty rad too.

I saw one of these driving around a couple weeks ago and I had no idea what it was. Took me weeks to figure it out. I thought it was a very recent, or even brand new model from a current manufacturer, like Tesla, Lucid, or maybe Kia or Mazda. Something contemporary anyway. But this thing was built clear back in the early 70's?!? You have to admit it does look much more like a post-2020 model. The front end headlight design is weird; it has this wrap-around glass cover over both the lights and the license plate frame- again, something you'd expect from a modern car, not an obscure 1970s long forgotten one.

Whoever 'styles' modern cars, needs to take a look over their shoulder and get some much needed inspiration from these older designs, which often exhibit true genius and an eye for beauty and form.
Long live the classics!
BTW what the fuck is that awful Tesla pickup I've unfortunately seen !? Musk needs a whippin' for that travesty!🧐😕

I saw this thing driving down the road last night, that looked like some high school kid got a hold of some sheet metal and tried to design a cheap prop for some bad low-budget 1960's sci-fi movie. Might that have been the "awful Tesla pickup?" Either way, I couldn't stop laughing at it.

Over the years, we've had cars that look like giant frogs (Nissan Juke), cars that look like giant stuffed cats (early 1980s Mercedes) cars that look like shoeboxes (Scion, or that Kia model) and cars that look like, whatever the Pacer, Pontiac Aztek, and Gremlin are supposed to be, but that thing- that took the cake.
