The true colors of the GOP are showing in this time of desperation.
Calls for political witch hunts ala Joe McCarthy. Anyone who doesn't march to the party line is anti-American, unpatriotic, and in the case of Mr. Powell, MUST be supporting the Democratic candidate because they share skin color. He certainly couldn't think that Obama is the better man for the job.
Staunch supporters of the GOP have suddenly become RINOs in the eyes of the ardently devoted far right. A Vice Presidential candidate states that the "real Virginia" are only those who support Sen. McCain for President, implying of course that the rest of Virginia is Anti-American and unpatriotic. It's easy to see how that idea will be applied to the rest of the country as well.
We've heard this "You're either with us or against us" bullshit before. Take a look around, the number of those that are "with you" are shrinking daily. The American people are tired of being talked to as if they are in mortal peril if they don't listen to the Republican party and give in to every demand made by them. The GOP had the Presidency for 8 years, and control of the Congress for 12 of the past 14 years. But somehow they're supposed to be the ones that rescue us from the failed policies of their own party?
We're supposed to think that a geriatric rage monkey and a know-nothing snow bunny are going to do anything but continue the failed policies of the Bush Administration? One look at Sen. rage monkey's voting record since 2000 dispels that myth. He can run from his record, but he can't hide from it.
