Did everyone survive the wet day? No problems here...

I had an "adventure" getting to Downtown this morning. They closed the I-45 HOV before it crosses I-10. We turned onto White Oak and could only go left (east) because the bayou was flooded WAAAAAY out of it's bank, raging to within about 20 feet of where we were turning. The rushing water was amazing. My car pool buddy and I inched our way to Main (through high water) only to find the traffic backed up from flood waters there. We went to Fulton. Impassable. FINALLY got to Old Hardy in order to get to the aquaduct over the bayous into downtown and got turned back by flooding. "I'm all out of alternate routes" I told her. "I don't know where we should go now."

We finally made it onto Main and waited it out by the U of H Downtown. I got a hug from the Director of HR at work who thanked me for coming in. (That was a little strange) A LOT of people didn't make it in today. Everytime I needed something, the people I needed information from were out. Hopefully it won't be as bad tomorrow.

Your driving adventure resembles my cousin's. Her vanpool finally agreed that they were taking the day off and returned home!

It's so nice outside today, I think I'll take my monsters to the pool.

What's new with y'all?

Apparently we got a lot of rain at my house today. The electricity went off several times.

How was the pool?

btw, they lowered the price of the house across the street from your pool by $15,000.

Sounds fun. I'm not sure what my plans are yet. As usual, I'm waiting to see what someone's schedule is going to be.

I was hoping to take the kids to the children's museum tomorrow. Is there still flooding in Houston?

Lucky you! I hear it was bad down there. I'm far enough north of town that it wasn't an issue.

I know, but it's 45 minutes (on a Sunday) farther than my commute now -- one way.

And according to the Social Security Administration, I have to work until the end of January 2025 -- that's a LOT of extra driving.

I REALLY need them to extend the HOV to Conroe. Have you or hubby heard any scuttlebutt about that?

I, personally, have not heard anything but I'll get him to ask around at work and find out what's up.

Yeah, an extra 45 min is a bit of a drive. *nods*

Gasp!

I didn't look at the prices.

Perhaps we can just rent a horror movie instead!
