lights

Saw the Zoo lights on Sunday night. Best to be there by five pm. Worth the trip. Also check out Prestonwood Forest. Used to be the hot spot for lights. Even some nice ones in Missouri City.

Tell me more about the zoo. Is it the zoo itself that has the lights or the park surrounding?

Thanks for saying Prestonwood. I was trying to remember the name and never got it to the tip of my tongue!

They have some shows, like the sea lions. There is a snow tunnel (I think it is soap foam), and the kids area is open with lots of great things. The carosel is running ( $2 a ride) and the reptiles are active at night. Goes until 8:30. Cheap entertainment $5 adult, $3 children.

Also a lot of lights in our neighborhood, but will likely brave Prestonwood later this week.

I've made the mistake of trying Prestonwood on the 23rd and 24th. I DON'T recommend it! The traffic is awful!

Years ago, I knew a gal that lived in that neighborhood. She would drive home from Lubbock, and have to take another two hours just to get home once she got to 290. She started to just park her car, and walk home as it was faster.

Some of the streets around Memorial City put on some great shows. My favorite house is for sale this year. They have a dozen topiarys covered in lights. A ling horn pulling santa in his sleigh, dinosaurs decked out in lights. ect.

Some Texan I am, that is Long horn, not ling horn. Need to slow down and read what I am writing.

I've heard the zoo does great work but I've never been.

Due to the parents, we skipped the zoo and now I'm sad. They decided it was too far to drive, this from people who are used to driving 70 miles to wal-mart

Due to parents??????

We took the kids with us!!!! I do not know who had more fun. If you go on Thursday night, the MFA is open for free too.

Try to make it. Well worth the trip, with or without the parents. They do rent wheelchairs too. Always entice them with a stop at James Coney Island if they are good. Or 59 Diner, or Star Pizza. Oh man, I like to eat, can you tell. Maybe I need to stop for lunch soon.

It is for sale!!?? Only 375K on HAR.com

I must buy it!!! Anyone want to float me a HUGE loan??? I LOVE THAT HOUSE at Christmas time!!!

Funny, the listing shows it as "lush landscaping" but makes no mention to the animal friends who live in the front yard. Don't you know that there are some people who freak out when the agent drives them up to that house!?

You are a gal after my own heart. You know the place. Sad, isn't it. Drove by the other night, and no lights. For Sale sign out front. Some of the animals gone. Sad day in Houston.

Often thought a photo shoot in the lit up yard would be fun. Met the owners one time. Nice people, kind of quiet. I just want to know what the neighbors are thinking with this house going on the market??? Several homes back there for sale.

In the depths of my "stuff and junk" I have photos of it at Christmas. It was yearly tradition to take visitors by the house for a quick peek. Well, not really quick... we could linger for the longest looking at the smallest details. Such an amazing tradition gone down the crapper.

*sigh*

Thanks WC. I appreciate your guidance. After all, I am still a Virgin, so be gentle.

Thanks for the link. I'm sooo glad that I'm tired of putting out lights or I may have been inspired to go put out another few hundred strands!

Have you guys seen the weather forecast???

They are talking on the news right now about chance of snow on Friday. Don't forget to protect your 4P's!
