I still think Dallas is worse. I lived there 23 years ago....yikes.

...just sayin'![]()
someplace said:This weekend I was trying to figure out if it might be faster to get home from Wimberley via Austin and we decided the traffic there was too iffy to chance it. It took 3 hrs 40 min to go from Wimberley to The Woodlands.

I'm Wild Cherry said:What happened to Roula and Ryan on 96.5's morning show? There are commercials saying that Sam Malone is starting this morning. Anyone know if R & R found another spot on the dial?
Any opinions on this Malone guy?

melligrl said:I want my War of the Roses back! That's the only time I listen to Roula and Ryan, otherwise it's the Rod Ryan show even though I can't stand Theresa.
I have never heard of Sam Malone, but my boyfriends says he's an ass clown.
R&R have said they will come back no no word on where yet.

I'm Wild Cherry said:If anyone hears of Roula and Ryan returning to local radio, please let me know. I'm wondering how much I'm gonna like this Sam guy. His first impression wasn't phenominal for me but I don't care much for programming on 104. It seemed like many 104ish type songs were played on 96.5 the past few mornings.
What other stations do you recommend I give a try?
TexasFunGuy said:Melli, War of the Roses was the only time I listened to them also. Otherwise I was listening to the Buzz (or Killer Bee radio as it is called while the Astros are in the playoffs). Theresa does get annoying at times but she isn't as bad as Travis.
I have never liked Sam Malone and his show so I doubt I will be listening now.

Travis doesn't bother me. Theresa just seems to think she's better then most people . . . but it seems to be mostly females who hate her.
I'm Wild Cherry said:Hey, they are talking about Elves and More on tv. Last year, they gave more than 20,000 bicycles to needy kids. This year, there will be 16,000 bicycles assembled and delivered in addition to 100,000 wrapped gifts to needy kids.
Anyone else ever work for them? I'm planning on working again this year.

keiffers said:LOL don't go through Austin (or Round Rock specifically) any weekend between now and February, since they're shutting down IH35 to do work on the SH-45 (toll road) and IH35 spaghetti loop....
hmmm when I goto the woodlands from RR, it takes me a little under 3 hrs, hopefully you also cut through Hempsted and Magnolia as well![]()
someplace said:Actually, the traffic on 1488 has worsened over the past couple of years to the point that I now go up to 105 in Conroe (take 336 west from I-45 for a short-cut there as well) and cut across to Brenham. Much less traffic, and it's a prettier way. You have to jog through Navasota, but that only takes a couple of minutes and you get to drive past all those old Victorian houses. AND you get to see the little miniature ponies at the Monastery too!
If you ever have time, forsake the ponies and drive 390 from about 10 miles this side of Brenham (a few miles before the Monastery). It'll take about an extra 30-45 min and put you out back onto 290 at Burton. It's called a "Scenic Highway." There's a little community called Gay Hill that's pretty and you'll drive past the original site of Baylor. It's a cool little drive.
someplace said:I wouldn't recommend the 390 drive at night. There are a couple of very sharp turns plus a place where the entire road goes down to about 10 feet to get under a railroad bridge. It's not called a scenic drive for nothing. *nods* You want to be able to enjoy the scenery.
TexasFunGuy said:Every Monday when they do the Sex/Fame/Jail segment, I expect Theresa to say how many times she had sex over the weekend. And can EVERY band be her favorite band? LOL
I'm Wild Cherry said:Wow! That's terrific!
So, is it more fun to build bikes than doing your normal job? I'd be happy to be a gift wrapping fool for a day or two. After that, I think I will have reached my wrapping quota.
