How do Christians negatively affect your life?

The Ten Commandments stand as one of the most enduring moral codes in human history.
I'm afraid this is simply bullshit. The first three commandments are simply tyrannical attempts to instill fear ("Thou shalt have no other god before me") in those who might be dubious about the nonexistent omnipotent being. There is a warning that the "sins of the father" will be visited on their children, which is simply wrong: we do not punish children for the sins of their parents, do we?

Then there are the "Thou shalt not kill" etc. rules. Have to say, if you need to read these in a religious text instead of being rational enough to figure them out for yourself, I don't see much in the way of brains in your head!

Then there is the stuff about "coveting." Never mind the disturbing reference to the wife as being the property of the husband, but the idea that mere thoughts will be punished is the quintessential religious method of trying to persuade everyone that they are somehow soiled by "impure thoughts" and so worthy of punishment.

"Thoughtcrime" is the term used by Orwell.

And where are the prohibitions of slavery, rape, cruelty to children, etc.? Nowhere, of course. Slavery, in fact, is actually endorsed elsewhere in your scripture.

Is holding women accountable for their behavior also misogginiez?? No wonder you hate religion so much, that shit is like kyptonite for degnerate whores and commies alike.
Hmm. Kryptonite. Are you implying I'm some sort of superhuman?

Go back and read about Roger Williams again, mmkay?

Will that make the Declaration of Independence go away or something??

Will that make USA's founding fathers opinions on the matter not be well documented history somehow??

No.....again you're just wrong and unable to admit it.

Well, got a few DMs from other users saying they thought it was hilarious, so the value was high for me...
Hey, that's great, no problem. I don't mention or characterize "private" conversations I have here. That's just me, but I don't think they are understood to be private, and I think the management reads them all with great hilarity.

I tihnk the management are all volunteers and have better things to do with their time than read any of the messages that usually are probably primarily sexual in nature and would get boring AF after a day

I was pulling your leg. The real management is not volunteers. Anyone who believes “management never sees PMs” is confusing policy, practice, and possibility. If you assume PMs are untouchable, you’re trusting mythology.

I dont send threatening messages via dm, call people names, use racist terms, spread any sort of hate speech, sexist remarks, whatever... or do anything outside of the rules.
I am not really concerned if my dms are read or not.

I don't either. Who accused you of doing so?
I am not really concerned if my dms are read or not.
Neither do I, because I assume they aren't private to begin with.

no one accused me.
im just saying...whether my intended recipient reads my dms, or a group of mods do, i dont care much...and ive nothing to worry about in terms of content

(By the way, why do you assume I'm male?)
That makes no difference to me, but it does to the legions of lit cruisers who will start sending you messages with dick pics. The klaxons have been activated. There is someone here who might be female.

LOL....it's not hate speech when a good leftist does it to the people they don't like.

From Chadrone I got this weird troglodyte reply:

"I don't hate women.

I love how recognizing the "NEUROTIC FEE FEES OVER FACTS!!!" behavior being a predminantly female pattern makes you think I do though.

Is holding women accountable for their behavior also misogginiez?? No wonder you hate religion so much, that shit is like kyptonite for degnerate whores and commies alike."

Gosh, in one comment he whines about being called a misogynist, then "recognizes" how "neurotic" behaviour is a "predminantly [sic] female pattern"! Well, at least no dikpix (so far).

core beliefs, Christianity, . . .Whether viewed through a theological lens or as a cornerstone of social order, their impact on shaping concepts of right and wrong is undeniable.
Indeed! Just ask the heretics burned at the stake, the Jews kept out of certain neighbourhoods, the children abused by Catholic priests ("No child's behind left"), the people condemned to slavery by the "Curse of Ham," and, of course Galileo, about how Christianity "shaped concepts" of right and wrong!

They suppress science.

People who are Christians do that.

Christians don't do that
This doesn't pass the laugh test! If a Christian does a bad thing, you won't say it reflects badly on Christian teaching, but then if a Christian does a good thing, you'll say it's because they're Christian!

Anyway, the "creationist" nonsense is a perfect example of how religion is bad for science. I mean, ask yourself this, if we have fossils of changing forms over billions of years, wouldn't it be saner to see that living things reproduce and change generation after generation, rather than being somehow magically "created" year after year, by a deity tinkering like a child with modeling clay? But (some) people use their Bible to say no, this science bad, ugh.

What?
I didn't say that nor do I do that.

You're saying religion ruins the world. I'm saying the human societies that have existed over history refute your argument.

People who do things in the name of their religion isn't what I'm defending.
