How do I find av's to use?

I have tried to find a way to put an av in my profile but can't figure it out....can anyone tell me?

First you have to have a 100 posts.

Then you go to usercp, click on editoptions and scroll down.

i used to be able to find a lot of really good ones at Wolf's Av's and Gestures, but haven't been back there in awhile...you could try a Google search for avatars...

It's a two step process:

1: Download a good program for resizing and converting images --like www.irfanview.com or Paint Shop Pro from www.jasc.com

2: Find or create an image you like and resize it to 150x150 pixels or less and a file size of 20480 bytes or less.

(Note: 150x150 is the maximum dimensions in pixels -- it does NOT mean your avatar has to be square, just that the larger dimension must be 150 pixls or less.)

Try not to copy someone else's AV though. Say, to use a name I see frequently and intelligently- if Sheath changed AV's to a new one, then someone else also switched to the same AV and both had the same AV at the same time, that would get almost as confusing as my explination.
At least for those of us that use AV's to find posts.
I know I use mine- more obvious then looking for my name in a long thread.

Custom AV's (ones you make or have made for you) say more about you then a random net pic.

I find pictures I like, edit them and use them in my avatar.

Question: why does everybody write AV (with capitals). If it stands for avatar, then shortened it would be av. AV suggests it stands for something

Wow, thanks for all the answers and sources to find av's.

When I reach 100, I'll definately be putting one up.

As for using a duplicate, I can understand that confusion, but I'm sure it happens every now and again.
