You can, but only if it is hosted on another site.

I believe you can still add it as your profile pic, regardless if it is hosted on another site or on your own PC, however.

Go to www.irfanview.com and download irfanview -- it's a free image management progrm for windows based computers that makes resizing images and converting them to JPG format (the best format for avatars) almost idiot proof.

It's hard to play the word games if you're shy or cautious. I sit there for an hour, thinking "Hmm... do I really want to kiss this person I don't know or not?" And by the time I decide and get up the nerve to post, "Sure!" there's been 10 more messages and a brand new person is at the end of the thread, and the process starts all over again.
