How do you spell sounds of sexual pleasure?

I mean, once you get past "ooohhh..." and "aaahhh..." how do you write low moans, loud moans, muted groans, orgasmic yelps and all that stuff. I keep making it up in the down and dirty "dialogue", and feeling it is not right. Curious what others do and think about this.
I write:

low moans
loud moans
muted groans
orgasmic yelps

I used to try to write sounds directly when I started writing, but it’s a poor solution. I still use “oh” (and “oh fuck!”) and punctuated dialog (“I… I… can’t… take any more”) but have tried to avoid other stuff of late.

I make it a point to steer clear of using three identical letters in a row as it appears redundant. In fact, "Hmm" is just as effective as "Hmmm". The appearance of a fourth consecutive letter serves as an unmistakable red flag.

Ahhhhhhhh I'm Commmminnnnggggggg......

Whenever I come across these excessive letter groupings, my mind undergoes a remarkable transformation. Initially, I approach the text with reverence and concentrate intently on each syllable. However, once I encounter these letter combinations, I automatically shift into a mode of rapid, superficial reading, often culminating in me hitting the back button.

I kinda pumped those examples out pretty quick and, unlike my stories, I don't edit my comments as well before posting 😅

But you're right. Too many letters gets distracting.

I guess I have not counted the responses but it seems a minority thinks it ok to go the onomatopoeic route with moderation, and a majority thinks do not even go there. Not sure I find the never-go-there shackles satisfactory, but I do agree its risky, hence why I asked.

I was going to say don't do double-letter exclamations at all, then found them in one of my own stories, specifically about an overheard sex event happening in the next room. So much for that advice.

'Erin's "oohhs" and "ahhs" grew to a quiet crescendo, and a final prolonged exhalation signaled that she had orgasmed. Hal's panting also increased, although he was much quieter.'

Probably best to be sparing and understated, bizarre orthography tends to detract from the intended effect.

I would be moaning her name as I am orgasming..

Same. I used to write Oohs and Aghs, But lately just describe moans and groans. But I do like to write expressions of the buildup to a climax, especially for woman. It's fun to write, as a woman's clitoris is being ravaged, to say, "That! Yes! Oh... There! Fuck!"

Not wild about writing sounds. I haven't really used a dialect that much, either. I may have tried it Yestiddy, dickering around, but didn’t loin nothin bouts it.

I don't try to write the sounds of sex. I describe them; gasps, moans, garbled cries, etc.
Yeah I try to do mostly this, and just a little of the sounds, but not too much.

I don't like reading the 'ooo', 'ahh', 'ugn', and so on stuff, it reads really weird to me. So I try not to write it myself.

I tend to try to capture sounds that I've heard. But to do it more than a few times - it becomes challenging, all right.

I tend to try to capture sounds that I've actually heard. But to do it more than a few times - it becomes challenging, all right.

I've done ooo's, ahhs, guh's, mmm's, nnn's, maybe some stuttering, cut off words, etc. I keep it to a minimum, though.

Pretty much this. I'll throw in a sound now and then, but usually I'll specify something like moan, groan, grunt, pant, whimper, etc. and let the reader fill in her/his own version of what that sound would be.

Wait, people make SOUNDS during sex?

You learn something new every day.

I try to steer clear of asstr style onomatopoeia and just inform the reader that the sounds were made. If the reader needs more assistance I'll direct them to @onehitwanda and her Wharrgarbl meme

I feel like I've made a rod for my own back with this one...

Oh well. It was totally worth it.
