How far from work do you live?

I'm an adopted Yooper!

Depends where I have to be that day how far my drive is and which vehicle I drive.

If it's my local office it's 30 miles. Otherwise it's a choice between 42, 91, 97, or 140!

I do about 2000 miles a month (thank God for mileage reimbursement)

Down the hall, just past the bathroom, last door before the living room. Coffemaker in the kitchen / conference room / breakroom.

No paid vacation & no snow days, but we do occasionally take an afternoon sex break.

Break Time!!!

Kit

Thank you so much for the quick burst of laughter you gave me when I read your post, Lady_Kit. LOL

Boy, some people brag way too much as to the kind of benefits they receive. LOL (referring to the sex breaks and the fact that you were going on your "break time" at that particular moment.

I live about 5 minutes away, drive time. Love being able to go home for lunch, but I am the first one they call if there is an emergency & no matter what the weather is, I can get there.

One way:12 miles, 22 minutes, 9 stoplights and very few rude drivers.
Snow days? not very many days we have snow up here, but even when we do, because of my job, I make it to work no matter. Otherwise the snow plows don't run, the streets don't get sanded and John Q citizen would be huddled around the fire, unable to get out his driveway, cussing those worthless, lazy, good for nothing government employees.
Actually the danger up here is black ice. I pulled out on to US 101 one morning several years ago, and started to accelerate across a bridge that is a short distance from where I turn onto the hiway. Suddenly I found myself looking at the grill of the truck behind me. My car had spun 180 degrees and I was sliding backwards. An interesting wakeup call, a lot better then coffee!
Comshaw

I used to work at the store next to my house. All I had to do was cross the street. I kinda miss that job.

Currently, I live about 20 minutes from work. Me and my mother share a vehicle, but luckly she works like 2 blocks from me. :D

Fast food is demanding I tell you!

Depends where I am at.

If I am at home during breaks then I am about 15 minutes from my shop. Maybe 10 mintues if it is a good time of day for traffic.

At school I work about 10 mintues away if I walk and about 2 if i drive.

I live 4 miles from work... takes about 5 minutes, it's all gravel road. During the tobacco harvest, it takes a lot longer, and when the combines are on the roads, it can be almost impossible.

snow days don't exist for me... thanks to my 4x4 sometimes i wish i could call in stuck.

i have an on campus job. it's about a 15 minute walk from the dorm. snow is never an excuse to miss class or work here, it snows too much for that to be a worthwhile excuse.

I walk about thirty minutes each morning to work..... what can I say, I love the walk.

it takes me exactly 2 minutes to punch out at work and pull up here in the driveway. i can walk it in about 15 minutes.

i love it cause if we get snowed in at work, guess who is walking home so i dont have to stay at the plant?

Well I have to plan my day around my trek to work

Let's see 6:30 am Courier drops my work off.

8 am my alarm goes off. (I ignore it :D )
It goes off at 8:30 am and I ignore it :)p )
My 8 year old wakes me at 8:45 and I rush for the shower. (I made lunches the night before)
I take 5 and a half mins in the shower and comb my hair. Put my clothes on, 3 mins to apply hair product and make my curly hair behave and take him to school
Pick my work up at the back door as I grab a coffee and turn the computer on.
Throw back the covers of the bed to air.
And my work day begins :)
All in all, my travelling time from home to work is about...

10 secs (if I account for adjusting the chair correctly :D )

ummm....about

10-12 miles - takes about 30 min in the morning and 45 min on the ride home in the evening - i hate it because i work in the downtown area and often the traffic is horrendous - sometimes in the evening i say outloud in the car "just let me get out of downtown - please"

I live 2.5 miles from where I work...which usually takes 20-30 minutes to drive since everyone b/w here and there 'drives' a fucking SUV at 5 m.p.h. b/c they're talking on their fucking cell phones....

Well, there's that, Jack, and also the fact that you're wading through 14yr olds newly licensed!:D
