How frequently do the top lists refresh?

I have a chapter of a story (The Means to Provide Pt 2, shameless plug) which currently has a 4.86 rating and 100 votes.

Looking at the current list for the taboo genre, this should make it the all time number two spot.

I'm not so naive to think that rating will hold, indeed the current number 1 only has 104 ratings, and from what I've read this will probably make it a target for one-bombing.

I'm just curious if there is any knowledge out there on how often these lists get refreshed?

You will know when it's refreshed... because the score will be adjusted accordingly.

It used to be once a day, but I thought now it was more or less in real time, or at least when the scores that you see in your dashboard are updated in the rest of the system.

A couple of times a day, but not completely in real-time (no exact times afaik).

I've had a few chapters of my latest make it there, last a day or a few, get bombed, make it back, get bombed again, etc... and I'm mostly observing in real-time because I'm a masochist, a glutton for punishment and pain, and a self-obsessed writer who just wants people to like her work.

Also, I find it absolutely hilarious (and so very Literotica) that the 7-day and 30-day lists don't use the same ratings/votes as the all-time list. I think they update at different intervals.

You're also observing it in real time for the screen grabs, I hope. 'Yes, I really did get there.' Of course you'd need to be a bit obsessive about refreshing regularly.

edit: That was addressed to bi_cathy, but of course it also applies to the OP. You have a chance of overtaking the other low-votes one and briefly hitting the top spot.

Oh nice. Thanks for grabbing that for posterity. As expected, the score on my dashboard is back down to 4.83 (not salty, much ).

I'm glad to see the current number one is still there. I wonder how long it'll stay like that.

You have NO idea how many screengrabs I have. Just so when the insecurity hits and I start asking myself if I know how to put two words after each other in the future, I can glance at them and be like "i did good there."

Some of the bad votes get cleaned up after a while (a few days), so you may see the number of total votes drop by a couple while your score re-adjusts and goes up. I hope that happens to you, too.

Eventually, there are enough 3-star and 4-star votes that don't get cleaned and that drag it down, but it's nice to see it bounce around a bit.

For me, the biggest win is in grabbing new readers. You should see some new subscribers soon because of it

I've definitely seen my subscribers going up. It's always a nice feeling. I'm trying to not get bogged down by it though. I should be doing it for the love of the craft, and not the likes, but we all have an ego, right?
