I certainly do agree. Think of all the money that has been spent in efforts to reduce crime through social reform and social welfare spending rather than in more punishment. It has all been wasted.

This bothers me. It does not only bother me because I do not like to see billions of tax dollars squandered. It bothers me because I am a hereditary and life long Democrat. The failure of the civil rights movement and the war on poverty to enable blacks to perform and behave as well as whites has discredited New Deal programs that actually work.

The black ghetto riots of the 1960's and more enduring increases in black social pathology destroyed the New Deal coalition. White racial moderates who supported the civil rights movement and the war on poverty had the right to expect better behavior and performance from blacks. They got worse behavior, and no improvement in performance.

Lets look at intelligence from a different perspective: The average human (red, yellow, black, or white) is competent to handle 98% of life's challenges, and a solid case can be made that blacks aren't up for the sort of weird science. modern art, Washington bungling, and wall street theft that Harvard grads excel at. That has nothing to do with it. Both major parties do what corporate America tells them to do. The only difference is how much it takes to buy them off. Dems are cheaper.
The idea that only the Democratic party has a few individuals that aren't bought is dumb. All parties have that. There are idealistic Republicans who have yet to go over to the dark side and there are Dems who still think life is fair.

I think it's mostly because the right on here are incredibly stupid. I don't think that's at all true of the right in general but for some reason the ones here are complete fucking idiots. A few exceptions and those exceptions do just what you say, they call their own idiots when it applies. However you'll never see Vette call busybody out on anything.

2. Secondly, it allows him to play the Victim Card, something he loves to do.
3. And finally, I give folks on my side of the political fence an opportunity to criticize one of their own, which makes them morally superior to their wingnut political opponents (who by contrast turn and look the other way when their allies do the same thing I do).
