How long to wait before resubmitting a story?

I had a story on pending for 8 days after submitting two others that were approved within 2 days. I removed that submission and resubmitted it 4 days ago but still nothing.
Maybe deleting and resubmitting was stupid and just put me farther back in a list or something?

Also curious if the category of story you’re submitting affects which mods approve it and maybe some categories have more mods than others or something? Does anyone know if the category of story impacts how long it takes to be approved?
