How many are flying into EAA this year?

There is an airshow at Virginia Beach October 1st & 2nd. They are supposed to feature a number of WWII “ war birds”. The county Parks & Recreation Dept. is running a trip there for the Sunday show… for $20.00. Leaves at 6:30, comes back at 9:30. I’m seriously thinking of going. Lunch is over, back on the road again. Slainte

I will definitely keep that in mind. Would love to see a P-51 and Hellcat up close. I have watched a lot of history channel shows on them.

I will keep you updated as to any changes I find out about. They are truly awe inspiring aircraft, especially if you can see one up close, they flying there routine

How many flying enthusiasts do we have on Lit that are making the trip to EAA this year?

From reading these I must be the only here who has absolutely NO idea what EAA is. It appears to attract a lot of very nice folks, so Old Al is curious to learn what it is about. Would one/ some of you people be kind enough to educate me? On the. event, please. heh

One of these days I’d really like to go! It would be a blast to fly in, but even if not I feel like it’s every pilot’s duty to make it there eventually. Fun to see other fellow aviators and fans here on Lit.

Experimental Aircraft Association. It began as a collection of folks who designed and/or built their own airplanes. Now, it could more appropriately be called the Everything Aviation Association, I think! Homebuilt airplanes are still a huge focus, but with subcategories of vintage and antique planes, military planes, and just lots of factory-built airplanes.

Every July, there's a convention in Oshkosh WI where we/they gather. Nice to bump elbows and talk airplanes with 600,000 of your closest freinds!

I live just south of there and rarely miss it. The Saturday night shows are spectacular. I’m flying solo this year as the wife will be traveling. Looking to meet up with another fellow or even an adventurous couple that would like to stay at my place and have our own fireworks after the slow.
