Constantly!!!! LOL

I was sweating on getting to the big 50 with M.I.K.E. and it's had so many comments, so checked them too.

I do more so when I have a new submission to see if it's been approved or not.

YAY! Somebody else has actually admitted to it. :D

(We are the only two to have voted for an option stating more frequent than once a day. ;) )

I get lots of PC's too, so that's why I check mine so often.

I just tried it and got that, too. It worked yesterday.

It worked for me that time! Could've been a blip in the database. The same error popped up for me earlier, when I was, um, checking my, um member page.

I got that on all of the stories earlier. I PM'd Manu and Laurel and a while later it was working again. Try a restart on the site, the 'bad' page might have been cached in your browser.

I'm pretty sure it was a site bug,

Alex

I got the same message clicking on my stories too... hmm

Actually, that's given me a wicked idea for a "secret" page on my site: "Male Members of the AH".

Do you think many would be "up" for it? :D

Lou :p

P.S. I have a few on my HD I could make a start with.

It did it with page 2 only for me.
I tried again after hitting the back button, and it worked.

When I post a new story/poem, and I know its up, I check in the morning before I go to work, and when I get home (can't access the site from work).

As time goes on, I check less, and currently only around once a week.

I used to keep a record (I know, anal) in an excel spreadsheet I set up, just to monitor, and since every one of my stories was hit by the trolls, and 6 tumbled out of the lists, and 4 losing their 'H's, I keep it religiously, with the previous scores, as an ongoing record.

Hey, I can't help it if I'm organised. Its my job.

Mat

As so many do, I check new stories frequently- two or three times a day, for the first week or so.

If I don't have anything new, it slows to about twice a week, to see if there are any new PC's.

Course now that I can get online at home again, I'll have to check more often.

You slag-tart-slut, you. Go for it. P. :p

When I first get a story up, I check twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

One of my stories was top of it's category for about a week. It's now down to number 6, but that's because it's only got 34 votes. With just .03 between it and number 1, who cares?

Still, that was a good week.

Every couple of days I will check the PCs on all my stories, just because it feels good. I've gotten so few 'job well done' comments in my life, I need the reinforcement.

rg, you've obviously had the wrong jobs. Keep writing. P. :)

Thanks, perdita. I don't think I've had the wrong jobs. I've just been working for the wrong people.

I'm enjoying writing too much to stop.

Plus, except for that one troll, I've had nothing but positive comments. A pleasant change, I must say.

Very often at first

I'm a nut about this now, whatever good it does me. :D

When it first goes up, I check it the first thing, then a few times until it gets near ten votes, then just about every hour, plus I keep a record of it, date, hour, views, avg, votes.

Of course, many of you know this. :D  :p :( :rose:  :)

Once or twice a day.

I'm still hoping for this compulsion to go away. :D

Can't resist... must check score...

Constantly when a story is first posted. I will admit to actually leaving the screen on in the background and flipping to it and refreshing for the latest.

After a week or two I check less. Now it has been a month and a half since my last post and I probablly haven't checked in a few weeks.

I wonder what they are... damn, now I have to go look.

Good to know I'm not the only one that had that reaction to this thread :D

ps  thank you for the PC, CD.

I must be one of the more obsessive ones! When a new story is posted, I check it several times during the day, because I keep refreshing the page when I'm googling or whatever. My stories don't really get bombed that much until competition time. I think the best effort for me was 4.92 after 30 or so votes. Of course, you can guess what happened :D But it is steadily creeping back!

I usually check when I first sign on to Lit, and I am usually here at sometime during the day. Thus, once a day.

I do check more often when a story first goes up. I am a little torn about voting in general. I am very proud of my scores and I do feel that it is a measure of how well I am communicating what I want my audience to feel. But a part of me is still(!!!) in denial that I am really this shallow as to judge my work on what others think of it rather than on my opinion of it.

I admit to being a little vain about being in the top ten in one category.
