faedruss, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

anyone have any idea why i'm seeing this? i've been an active member for a while, and i keep getting this on links that people have put in public posts. others have viewed the links, so i'm totally confused...

Whenever I've reported a thread for spam or other Lit no-nos, the thread is removed, usually within a few hours.

During that time span AH members tend to fill up the thread with nonsense, flirting, name-calling, etc. We know the thread will be gone so we post whatever the hell we want. :cathappy:

Once the thread has been removed it will still show on my Control Panel as one of my subscribed threads, but when I try to click on it I get the same message you quoted above.

Other than that, I'm not sure. I imagine Weird Harold will have the answer soon, however.

:rose:

Are they links to Lit, or outside sites? Can you post an example or three of the links that give you the message?

If they're links to Lit pages, is it possible they're links to searches or threads that are prohibited in the Forum Rules? Links to search results become invalid after a certain period of time, and as Sarah said, you'll get that message when you've clicked on a link that's been deleted by a moderator.

What browser are you using? Have you logged out, cleared your cookies, closed your browser, shut down and restarted your computer, then logged back into Lit, and tried the previously problematic links again?

That's a generic vBulletin software error message. You'll get it when vBulletin can't find a thread or post because it was deleted, or any time you click on a forum function that references your UserID (cookie) if you're not logged in.

vBulletin defaults to automatically logging a user out if here is no activity detected for fifteen minutes or so. Make sure that you have "remember me" checked next to the login field so that you're automatically re-logged if the board times out on you.
