I seriously do not like this suggestion, and I'll tell you why. It's not fair to encourage people to stir up trouble for the moderators. I don't encourage people to send lots of harassing PMs to one individual, and that's what this suggestion is the equivalent of doing. It's a direct assault on two individuals, and that's not cool.

the guy asked the best way to be a troll and i gave the best answer. if he went on the bdsm board and said it was wrong nobody would care but do it on the glbt board and you start a flame war. it is a joke topic and moderating isnt that hard anyway. get over it.

What one person finds as a joke might not be for others. Humor can be a very subjective thing.

Perhaps this should have been put on the General Board and not the How To Board. Try to understand Etoile & her point (which I consider very valid).

It just occurred to me that you mentioned the BDSM board. Have you spent any time over there? People who attempt to judge those of us who practice BDSM get their throats jumped down pretty fuckin' fast.

Etoile not only has valid posts as a poster, but as a moderator as well... Damn her for being so valid.

Something that really should be considered here is that when someone, even jokingly, makes a comment that sounds even mildly serious about encouraging troll behavior, someone might take it to heart (I never said EVERYONE here was smart) and go use that suggestion.

When considering offering advice to bash anyone, but most especially entire well-respected groups ON THEIR OWN TURF, common sense must be adhered to as well as acknowledging that moderators and 'regular' litsters both will likely be disgusted and angry at the comment.

That's what trolls do, right? Sure, but we don't need to CREATE any more than there already are.
