How to find the perfect first toy .... for a virgin?

For what it's worth, I find that a cheap vibrator ($10-ish) with a rechargeable AA battery is quite adequate. I suppose one could insert it, but I don't.

My first toy was a bullet, because I was rather intimidated by the larger vibrators. It was a great first choice. It was discreet, cheap and extremely effective. I can only recommend it
