How to quit reading incest stories?

I have been a big fan on incest erotica for awhile now. Even wrote some on Chyoo. But I got paranoid. I don't want my family finding out and thinking I am a freak. I have absolutely no desire nor interest in them sexually. But if they found out how could I explain that it is just a fetish thing that I am into because it is taboo and that I never thought of them like that?

Basically I would like to stop reading the stuff because, as unlikely as it would be that the would find out, it still seems like the best way to deal with it. No guilty conscious would be nice too.

So does anyone have any advice for someone trying to quit or change a fetish?

Realistically, how would your family find out you enjoy incest stories? Is this a true threat, or just something that might happen by some stroke of bad luck? Are you doing what you can to keep your interests private? Is there anything else you could/should be doing?

If someone did find out, could you not just tell them the above?

Why should you feel guilty if you fully recognize you simply have incest fantasies that are perfectly healthy and will never come to fruition? Similarly, if your interests are all in the fantasy realm, is there really a point in shutting the door on that part of your sexuality just because someone might find out someday?

If anyone does find out, just tell them, quite simply, that you only read them because they're written in a way that appeals to you and the story is fleshed out better, i.e. people are always more reluctant and it seems realistic.

Exhausting a fetish

This is an interesting thread.

I did always try to recreate my first times, and each time the fantasies would last for several years. First time I saw a girl naked, first oral sex, first penetration, I wouldn't necessarily be thinking about the same girl or woman, but I would be thinking about what had happened, and sometimes even looking for pictures of women who looked like those firsts, or were posed, or dressed that way.

It just wore off over time, in every case. My current obsession involves a massage parlor I didn't want to be in, even though it was an extremely awkward experience.

I would worry more about becoming obsessed with a previous partner or sexual experience for too long. I think it would show my sex life was too dull.

Damn. I think that's happening to me now. All I can think about is that massage parlor.

Sweet Erika brought up some good points. Incest is something that has several very personal elements to it for anyone who reads it, writes it, or has lived it. Most times, it starts out as a curiosity that is inherent in most of the human poopulation. If or when it continues, it is usually because it has a taboo label on it, and people will seek thrills somewhere as long as they can find them. For some people, a thrill is the world's most dangerous rollercoasters, for others it's an emotional rollercoaster.

Liking incest stories or as a fantasy to dabble in in one's private time usually has to do with some deficiency in the person that has it's roots in dysfunctional family relationships. Allow me to mention that in the USA, it is not truly taboo for second or third cousins to get together and even marry.

Incest often get's it "freak" label from people who associate it with pedophilia. There are grown adults who are family members who have never even considered touching a child, are related, have sexual intercourse within whatever type of relationship they have, and they get the "freak" label and that doesn't apply to them because they are two consenting adults.

Not everyone who writes or reads incest material is a pedo. There is a population of society that are truly freaks, but they are always caught somewhere along the line. In the end, entertainment is what it is, and everyone has something they are interested for any number of reasons. Just be sure you know what side of the line you're on, and if it;s teh right side, stay there and enjoy your brand of entertainment.

Sounds pretty harmless, so unless there's a real chance of being caught (clear the history of your web-browsing!) or it's bothering you at a deeper level (sounds like it isn't since you say you don't think of your family that way), allow yourself the leeway to fantasise man. It's your right to have a good fantasy to JO to. And be a good boy in your day to day living.
