Nick Walton, Age: 24

The past, New York City

Nick Walton had always known when to push and when to back off. He was a level headed guy. If he thought he was in over his head he would just leave it at that. Then he met Rachel and fell head over heal in love. It was a typical boy meet girl. Fall in love, and two weeks later propose to her story. Rachel said yes a week later. Both he and Rachel was in their young twenties so they decided to wait to get married for about a year. Nick was pleased with that. All he needed to know was that Rachel was his.

That year of waiting was almost up when tragedy struck. Rachel was brutally assaulted in her home. She was lying in her bed while Nick was taking a shower. It all happened so fast and silent that it was already over when Nick, only covered with a towel, entered the bedroom. He saw his girlfriend splayed on the bed with a torn throat. A man in a dirty brown trench coat was on top of her.

Nick saw the fangs when the man looked up. Nick stood there in shock as the man stood up. His mouth was covered with Rachel's blood and the smile he gave Nick was grotesque. Then he just turned and left the same way he had came. By the balcony. Nick ran over to Rachel and Immediately realised that she was dead. He sat down next to the bed and closed his eyes. The sorrow and grief overtook him as he started to cry.

That was two years ago. Nick wasn't the same man anymore. He had given up his life for one purpose. To find the vampire that had killed Rachel and many others. Yes. Vampires exists. As do so many other creatures we only thought was legends. Nick had seen many of them. Werewolves and ghosts was very real, and very dangerous. Nick was a hunter now. His prey was Alejandro Muniz. The predator that ruined his life.

Present day, Somewhere in Arizona

It was a very sunny day as Nick Walton stopped his 1977 Pontiac Firebird in front of the Desert Rose Motel. The latest clue from the vampire he hunted had led him here. It was the fourth lead he had received. The creature had a good time leading Nick on. It had developed into a game of cat and mouse. Nick didn't even know who played the role of the mouse anymore. In the three previous places he was led to he only found death.

Nick was tired of the games. Still he hoped to catch up with the monster. For every slaughter house he entered he thought he came a step closer. Maybe it was wishful thinking though. At some point he must be there in time.

He exit his vehicle and cover his eyes with a hand. The sun is quite blinding. He was late and did not believe he would see any vampires here either. He could not ignore any leads though. He quickly march to the door that lead to the managers office. Opening the door he immediately smell the blood.

He find the corpses of a man and woman in their mid fifties behind a desk. From what he can tell they have been dead quite some time. Their bodies are a bloody mess and Nick and before he quickly make his way from the building, he pick up the room keys he find on the wall. He feel quite nauseous. He will never get used to all the death he face.

He go from room to room. Using the keys he took to open the doors. It is not until he reaches room 6 he find something. It is not what he expected to find. It is better than he had hoped. Or worse. He was momentarily stunned as he stare at the nude woman on the bed. She look to be in her early twenties and she's quite bruised. What stand out is the fang marks on her neck, and that she still breathe. Unconscious but alive.

He carefully approach the bed and cover the woman with a blanket. Then he sit down on a chair next to her and just wait. He do not know if it is to late to save her, but he will do everything in his power to do so. She's a perfect image of his dead girlfriend.
