I have a new kitten

We are going with the names Scamp.
He already mews everytime you call him Scamp *shrug* and the kids love the name.
It is actually a dog name from that second lady and the tramp movie so i think that is why they picked it.

He looks like you cat only more white and more white underneath. I think the kids are going to insist on Scamp... i think it kinda fits him. and next time i say i want another cat... someone pleae remind me that they do NOT sleep at night and will not let you sleep either lol.

Scamp is a nice name! When I got my kitty the first few nights I got in bed, she pounced on my toes as they moved under the blankets. She wore herself out and usually fell asleep in five minutes drapped over one ankle or another. Over the years she has decided that her sleeping space is drapped over my thighs just above my knees, or between my calves facing my feet. I've gotten so used to feeling her weight there that it a bit difficult to fall asleep without her there. When she wants more cuddling, she stands on my chest and paws at the top of the sheets, telling me she wants to get under them. Then she curls up nest to my hip at the right spot for my hand to rest next to her and rub her head or back.

She also likes to climb up to the high points of the room. To prevent curtain ruin, we put some shelves up over the windows, and positioned furniture under the ends so she can jump up to the shelf (about a 3 foot distance in most places). She loves them and she doesn't climb the curtains! Plus she likes the little dollar stuffed/beanbag animals I pick up occasionally from walmart or walgreens, and the furry mice toys best. Yes, I spoil her far too much, she has a big box of toys and sometimes she will look into the box looking for a specific thing she wants to play with.

Enough gushing for one post!

Scamp's cool.... I have a Sancho Panza (cause I'm a Don Quixote Boy Scout kinda guy) and Marcel Miaow. Marcel doesn't actually miaow; he hisses (very rarely) and purrs (90 percent of the time). We don't know why he doesn't miaow; his xrays show a voice box (or whatever the feline equvalent is) but any further investigation requires major surgery and I don't want to know that bad! Collectively, they're known as my Fuzzy Guys (with a wink and a nudge, of course!)

how about loki -- the norse god of mischief.
Actually, his name is Loke. ;)

Edited to add: And that makes a BIG difference when pronounced properly (and not as an American or English would do it).

Congratulations, KC. He is really cute! :)

I wonder if it would be considered hi-jacking of KC's thread if I posted a few pics of the proud mother M'gala and her five new-born? She actually got six - around 22 hours ago - but one was still-born.
Well, here they are. Those pictures are taken before I changed her 'bed-linen', so the mattress bears clear evidence of the messy business a birth is.....

And moved to a temporary cardboard box while her usual bed is being washed.

Just been looking at one of the kittens on the web cam.

It was so sweet.

Andante had it cradled in the palm of his hand, it looked so tiny and helpless

Whenever I think of Tristen i think of the character from Anne Rice's Beauty Trilogy (though he was really only "featured" in Beauty's Punishment). I do like the name though.

I too am a cat person. My last Boy cat is named Bailey because he's the same color of Bailey's Irish Cream. However, we've since been calling him Nathaniel, a name from Laurell K Hamilton's "Anita Blake" series as he seems to be submissive to all our other cats.

Lol - I have a Nathaniel too and my other kitty is Micah from the LKH books. I took in two 8 month old German Shepard puppies last year from a friend of mine that does animal rescues and thought about naming them Richard and Jason. One of them had been muzzled and had pretty bad scars on the sides of his face so I decided on Asher for him and my other giant puppy is Jean-Claude.

Sounds like you would enjoy the Reading For Pleasure Thread where we are discussing Laurell's books right now.
