Wow, I've never seen this thread before. I have a friend who is very into trains, always wanting to go take pictures of them, half his house is covered with pictures of old steam trains and railroad memorabilia like lights, crossing signs and signals. Not to mention most of the basement has a running set of trains he's proud to showoff. It's actually fun to drive them around with him.

I wonder if he knows about this.

The train you were referring to was why I opened this thread too. I thought this would feed my spankbank like when my friend in college told me about her experiencing a train.

More realistically I ride the other kind. I’ll have to dig up my pics.

A hugely complex machine, but a lot more 'comfortable' for British railwaymen in the 1950s with its mechanical transmission, and steam era wheel arrangement.
