I miss the Alpaca

I feel the same way about a mohair jacket I once had.

I loved it too . . . except when it got wet!

Hehehe! I was thinking along much the same lines, except I had nothing to do with the Alpaca's mysterious disappearance - despite what it says in my sigline. No, I didn't. I did not! Honest. ;)

Those lucky guys.

I hadn't posted for quite some time...and noone noticed.

Then again, I'm not a 'larger' animal.

Snoopy

I did notice you were gone, but with the holidays a lot of people have been. They're starting to turn back up. Welcome back!

Back, and delighted to report that on my vacation, I spotted several llamas. I squinted a little and they looked like alpacas to me.

Good to be back.

Yaaaaay! *happy dance*

i can hear the prancing all the way over here

Doesn't mean you can't miss them, naturally, but they'll be back. They'll ALL be back! ::cackles::

Back all the faster for the promises of paddocks, padlocks, and paddles! Seems to me that many of them involved a gosling as well ;)

Mmmmm. Lay on, MacDuff!

(And, of course, special kisses to that delightful German Shepherd.   )

Alpaca update:

He has been spotted in his destination...all is well ~

Furniture is in short supply ~ so is his food...but his humor is still raging!!

Another Alpaca sighting! Somebody, quick! Lasso the bugger and tie him down. :p

Shh. There has been no Alpaca sighting. It was all a mirage. These aren't the quadripeds you're looking for. Move along.

:p :D :p

And no lassos unless someone buys me dinner first.

A nosebag do you? :p

Good to see you! Have a good Christmas? :rose:

That's not what you said in Tierra del Fuego. 27 Rum Iguanas and you're anyone's.

27 of those, and I'd probably be everyone's.

:D

Tatelou --> Christmas wasn't so hot, but the surrounding days were pretty fun. How about yours?

P.s. Missed my SIMA!

You are. I have the video footage ;)

You promised you'd destroy that! Don't make me bring out the pictures of you and the crew of that battleship down in Jamaica after a few too many rums!

BTW, givin' a shout out to everyone who's contributed to this thread. It reminds me why it's so much fun to keep logging in.

Could you wait a few more days? I'm nearly done negotiating the publication with "PlayHorse," and the captain's trying to resign his commission quietly before the spread comes out.

It's so nice to come home after a long and fairly shitty day and find that both the Alpaca and Black Shanglan are back! And Snoopy, I did notice that you were gone, but I don't know you very well! I'm glad to see that you're here too!

So, llama, how was the drive?

The drive was . . . long. I have discovered some interesting facts about the lovely southland in the last few days.

1. Western Texas is INCREDIBLY boring to drive through. I felt kinda Lucky driving through part of it, but I'm sure it was just a phase. :D
2. The state of Louisiana smells bad. I originally was willing to give it a second chance despite some adventures I had at a conference in New Orleans back in September, but driving through the northern part of the state confirmed it . . . the state just smells bad.
3. Northern Mississippi is actually really pretty. Whatever the name of that national forest was (I think Roosevelt) . . . regardless, it was gorgeous. I'd love to go back there some day.
4. Alabama is a scary place. Moving on.
5. The driving in Atlanta more closely resembles a demolition derby without all the pleasantries than normal automotive travel.

:D

You know ... this sounds so much like my own journey that even I am starting to wonder if I might be Alpaca. I even agree on the "scent of Louisiana."

See?!? The statement has been moved and seconded!
It's not just the French Quarter of New Orleans! Shreveport smells just as bad, as does the entire friggin' swamp!

(Note, I have nothing against the people of Louisiana, except for shoe-shine guy down in New Orleans.)

Hey Shanglan, where all did YOU travel?

As does Monroe! Stopped there twice for some reason.

Hey Shanglan, where all did YOU travel?

Sounds like your route, except continuing on from Atlanta through to Charleston, SC. Did the big I-20-for-a-day-and-a-half thing too. Damn that weather was bitter - or so it felt when running around a parking lot at 1:30 AM trying to get two dogs to pee, damnit, pee NOW.

Thank goodness for the CD set of "The Chronicles of Narnia." I came out fresh as a daisy and wishing that I had another couple of hours to finish "The Last Battle."
