I miss the fitness threads and the fitness Doms!

The sweat machine is turned off again. Outside working in the garage for two hours in 90+ weather, in two shirts, and can't get a shean going. Lots of fluids in, nothing out. :(

I hope this doesn't mean another stone is on the way.... :(

I actually did some running whilst walking the dog last night! Havent run more than 10 feet in a decade...

Cycle 5, Wave A
Overhead Press day

60x5
75x5
90x5 Warm-ups done
95x5
115x5
125x7 Rep calc says an uninspiring 154#

Another bad night with little sleep, this time for no real discernible reason, followed by another disappointing lift. I shouldn't say no discernible reason, as I was woken up literally five times by phone calls starting about two hours before I usually get up. So the morning pretty much sucked.

On top of that, work has eaten my brain, and I was thinking about work stuff, not lift. I don't know why I was so distracted, but my head was just not in it today.

All in all, I'm disappointed in myself. Wednesday, I had a solid, legit reason for sucking. Today, not so much.

Gradually getting back into my workout routine.

Number are low, but quickly going back up.

12 miles on the bike this morning in just over an hour. The hills were killer, and the legs feel like jello on springs. But I am proud of myself none the less.

I think the back may register a protest alter on.

Yeah, it sucks to suck when there's no reason for sucking. I know how that feels. Tomorrow's another day, though.

Awesome!

Good for you Molly. Keep it up. A little bit here and there adds up.

Sweet! I have to get some more riding in soon.

Another tennis tourney tomorrow. Should be fun and the weather is kick ass. Man I hope my serve is on. I'm feeling better about my strokes these days though. And win or lose, I love being outdoors :D:D

You know, I think there's something to be said for a diet, or at least moderation. I went out last night to a fairly nice restaurant with some of my family, because there was a jazz trio we liked there. I had a club sandwich on multigrain bread, potatoes frites (the best fries I have had in months) and a strawberry parfait. I enjoyed that meal in a way that I haven't enjoyed a meal in a long time. I even had two Seabreezes. Sure, some of it was the quality of the food, and some of it was the company, but I think when you're not spooning crap into your body all the time you can enjoy good food a lot better. It was lovely.
And this morning I am back to the protein thing. I finally got around to photocopying my record pages.

Twelve miles, yay! averaged almost twelve miles/hour, double yay!

Discovering just how tender the 'tween gets on a bycicle seat after an hour of riding when you haven't ridden in years....

Not so yay. :(

I won't let it stop me. A little pain can be quite the driving force. Carrot and stick.

FIL's birthday.

M wanted to beg out because of temptation. I said "no - you will mirror everything I do tonight."

Bite of apps white wine instead of cocktail steak salads which will be half boxed and a forkful or two of the desserts people get is the plan.

Can we actually do it?

Stay tuned.

Did about 20 minutes of biking today. Would've done more but it was a 103f with heat index. 20 minutes was enough.

So, squat day, right?

Or not. LB got here so late that we didn't have time to do anything meaningful.

I did sweat my ass off today though. Went out to lunch and my truck decided not to start. So fun working on the truck in an asphalt parking lot at 104deg.

We just moved (not to B'ham as we'd planned, but to an area not too far from where we lived before). There's a lighted walking track nearby. A few days after I signed the lease, Kitty got called for a job in B'ham, naturally. So, basically, the upshot of all this is that I'm going to be here by myself during the week nowadays, and the Kitty-Cat will be staying with our Owner people, so she doesn't have to drive 60+ miles one way to work every day.

This is both good and bad for my weight loss thing.

I'm utterly disgusted with myself. I hate to look at myself in the mirror. I'm fat and ugly, and I hate it. I've been so stressed lately that I've done nothing but sit on my ass and eat. The progress I made with walking stopped when the days started being 90+ degrees.

With Kitty gone, I won't be as likely to cook or even make any sort of attempt to eat healthy. That's bad. But because the track down the road is lighted and in a good neighborhood, I can go over there at 2 am if I want to walk and/or run, and it won't feel like a thousand degrees outside. Plus, I can probably do some interval training stuff since I'll be by myself. (Kitty's legs are a lot shorter than mine, and she can't keep up easily. Plus, she has more foot and ankle problems than I do.)

I've basically decided that my fat ass likes food too much to starve myself to lose weight. Even though I'm also extremely lazy, I think I'd rather exercise than keep strict control over every bite of food that goes in my mouth. Being able to do it any time I want helps, too. So we're about to see how this goes, LOL.

M and I stuck to plan almost perfectly.

I had two cocktails he had a beer and a cocktail.

Rather pleased.

There is still no motherfucking motion in my miserable wincing life.

I've never been someone who was really able to jog for any distance. I have great endurance when walking but that has never translated to jogging. I've started trying to incorporate the jogging into my walking and started with about five minutes and then smaller periods of time that ended up totaling about ten minutes.

I also figured out that I actually do need to increase the weight I use with my arms. I was expending more energy trying to make the lesser weights do something when I can get right down to it with some heavier weights.

Three days of deck work was my fitness regime this week. Holy fark!

So, the morons who originally built this abortion, should be smacked in the head...repeatedly.

1. They put in ventilation on either side - good. Then laid 2x4's on top the joists in such as way as to effectively block all the ventilation they put in.

2. They didn't wrap the copper pipes with any insulation, so they sweat.

3. They used chipboard instead of plywood as their foundation. Fucking chipboard!!! They then laid sheets of 1/4" ply on top of the chip board.

Trying to take this deck apart nearly killed us, since the chip-fucking-board was glued and screwed and so saturated with moisture that every time we tried to pry it off it crumbled. 9 fucking hours of swinging a 40lb pry bar and a whole lot of cursing...yep, that's your workout right there. When we finally managed to get the sonofabitching mess off (no small feat) what we found was a mouse and rat infested, mold ridden, fiber glass fuck fest.

This job may have increased the size of my biceps but I probably also have Hanta virus now too. :(

I, uh, walked today. It was a pretty day, so we took a stroll.

*shrug*

Ok, so I thought I was doing well, being a fat bitch and still able to walk 2-3 miles at a decent clip, right? I started doing 1x10s this week, which we used to when I played sports in high school. You use a quarter mile track, like one that goes around a football field. You sprint down the straightaways and walk the curves. (I couldn't jog, even when I was in shape, so I'm not even going to try it now.)

All right, I was thinking, "Well, I know I can't do too many of them, but surely I can do a few." Wrong.

The first day, I managed a grand total of one before nearly keeling over dead in the still, humid air that was roughly equivalent to inhaling pea soup. At 1 am. (In my defense, the air was so thick and heavy because it stormed the next day, but still.) Walked a round, did one 1x10, then walked a final round, and came home and passed out. Couldn't even walk one more round to make a whole freaking mile.

The next day, I just walked a mile. I had too much to do and not enough time to do it. The following day, I didn't do anything because, again, too much to do and not enough time to do it.

Today, I went back out. I walked a round, did one 1x10, walked another round, and did another 1x10. I probably could've walked another round or two, but my left knee nearly gave way with me on that last sprint (old injury), and I was afraid to do much more.

I'm still alive, but not by much. By God, I may not be going far or doing much as far as fitness goes, but what little distance I'm going is DAMN sure whipping my fat ass.

Sprinting is tough, no matter how much you do.

Just got back from a wonderful New England vacation of eating lobster, drinking beer, eating ice cream, drinking beer, eating lobster rolls, drinking beer..well, you get the point.

I did take very long walks along the rocky Maine coast but not enough to make up for all the food.

I set myself back diet wise by about 6 weeks :( . But it was a great vacation.

Now back to serious work-outs and diet. And no more ice cream!! (well..at least not every day)

I don't run unless something threatening is chasing me. But I have been cleared to start cardio and am going to start next week. My back is improving, thank DOYC.

BB, when I do sprints during my runs, I don't set any particular distance. Basically just run full out until I can't anymore, stop, breathe, reset, repeat. It's more about reps than distance. Just do as many as you can do and don't...er...sweat it. And when I do sprints after a long while of not doing them, they kick my ass too. Awesome training though.

Keep it up!

Today's exercise was... work on my dad's car for about three hours in the blazing sun.

Yay for NEPA.
