I am 20 years old, 21 in a few months, and I’m going to university this coming September, 4 hours away from home.
When I was 16, I dated the boy who I could see myself marrying, settling down with the whole lot, up until January of 2013 , when we both decided to call it a day. He got a full time job at a solicitors office, which pretty much took up his diary, and I was in my last year of college, so I was stressed trying to get work done; we spent less and less time together, however we spoke every day without a fail.
From February to June this year, I dated someone who was 8 years older than I, and that was an… interesting (?) experience. Our differences and what we wanted were completely different, he wanted children now and I, obviously wanted to wait, so it didn’t work out. Though, I did carry for 3 months, until I, unfortunately, miscarried... Which you can imagine, caused arguments.
However, whilst dating this man, my ex and I continued to keep in touch, but never met up as he forbid me to have any contact with him whatsoever, and it’s sort of difficult to try and blank out someone who you’ve spent so much time with. The only reason he didn’t want me to have any contact with him was, in April, my ex got in contact and told me how foolish he was for letting me go, and at how much he missed me, and that he wish he could’ve had a second chance but understood that whatever I wanted and what I was happy with, that he too, was going to be happy.
To this day, I still have a lot of feelings towards him, I want to say I love him, but I think that’s a bit too far-fetched. I can’t stop thinking about him, I’m always wondering what he’s up to, we’re always texting and e-mailing, though he’s shy, so we haven’t yet met up, and I don’t think he plans on doing so. My parent’s absolutely hate him, my dad cannot stand the sight of him, and whenever I bring him up, he just tells me to shut up, and mums pretty much the same.
As I said I’m going to university this year, but, I don’t know if I should e-mail him and confide my feelings, or forget it as I’m going to university?
