Hmmmmm........should i??? Shouldn't i???? Should i???? Shouldn't i????

That should be a new thread...How many cheap thrills should i give Shankie during one lunch???

Thank God i was never pressured to be an alter girl ...

yeah, I hear that. Not that I'm catholic, but I wasn't really raised to be any religion. My upbringing was vaguely Christian, cause that's what my mom was raised, but other than Christmas (and the fact that we had a bible in the house) religion was not really discussed. We didn't go to church, we didn't READ our bible, we didn't pray at meals or anything.

was raised Nazarene, went to a Catholic Nursing School though, went to Mass twice a year.. learned enough that now I know how to fit in.. hehe.. well that and how to really mess up my best friend.

The little inner sadist in me LOVES to be next to her and say, "Lord have mercy" and hear her involuntarily say, "Christ have mercy" or "Peace be with you..." hehe

I'm evil:devil:

Generally a persons religion doesn't matter to me.

Yeah same here Shyguy. I've met catholics I like and catholics who are a pain in the arse. Its a wild stab in the dark but I don't think their religion was the primary factor in determining that. *shrugs*

I have a saint fetish. Cooler than baseball cards.

M finds car keys. I call him "Holy Tony" when he does.

Italians are basically Jews with awesome food and Jesus.

Catholic guilt is kinda hot.

Oh my gosh, too funny!!!

I'm also Catholic but in my day (did I really just say that?!) only boys were allowed to be altar "servers".

I've heard people talk about the Catholic Church being intolerant or judgmental. I guess I've been fortunate in that I've never been part of a parish that preached or practiced that.

In addition to appreciating the dogma of trying to be a good person and live a life as Christ-like as possible, I find the rituals and symbolism of Catholicism very comforting.

It's funny, she JUST posted this to me in another forum we're on..although there, someone was offended by a picture of the new pope and said we were catholic bashing.. thus ending our fun...

Oh the irony of those two comments...

I was baptized catholic, went to Catholic school from 4th-8th grade and a Catholic university.

I've never been very religious, but I do tend to get along well with Catholics and have a lot of respect for Jesuits in particular.

And there aren't many here in this little town. One little parish has served the county for years. My brother married an Italian from Florida. At 62 she's still hot. All the ones I've met online were great. Desert Rose and KC come to mind. But many more outside of lit.

I did know a few I didn't like. Kids I grew up in. What religion someone is doesn't matter to me just (to quote Martin Luther King, Jr.) the content of their character.

Although I'm a Catholic, I can understand jokes about faith, religion, the Pope...
Just as Pierre Desproges once said, you can have fun about everything, but not with everybody.

But... and it's nothing but a random thought.... While we Catholics have to be tolerant, unless we want to be called fascists and such, may I remind you what happened last year when a Danish newspaper published cartoons about Mahomet?
