I wanna be a kool kid and ask a question about categories

Simon: "Back in my day, we published our mildly sapphic stories in Lesbian, both ways, up a hill, in the snow."

Well, we had to do SOMETHING while we rode our horses 10 miles to and from school, while hunting game with flintlocks along the way so we'd have something to eat at lunch. Lesbian smut seemed like a reasonable choice.

All the Pretty Horses. (y)

Sapphophobia is endemic in some places. Last time I checked, I never ā€œcorruptedā€ any girls who didn’t want to be ā€œcorruptedā€.

Can I get in line for some corrupting? Do you take orders, or are we talking more of a buffet-style setup? :D

And if you told that to these new, young Lit-writers…they wouldn’t believe you!

Nope, nope. They’d say you were lying.

Lesbian:
The category is full of wonderful romance stories. (My favourite) In my opinion, a well written romantic drama, is way mor popular than a sx romp.
As a writer, it gives you a chance to try something diffrnt. In many ways, it is mor difficult to writ. It means you take away on of your crutches, (Epic sex scenes) You have to build tension and drama from the story.
Lesbian stories do exist within the Romance category, and are generally treated kindly, thy are however not widely read.
IMO... Lesbian is the right place, and it will be received with open arms.
I am not an expert, and this advice is worth exactly what you paid for it...
Cagivagurl.

I have a quasi-biographical story complete, but yet to be edited.

The main characters are both women. They only have sex once and at the very end. It’s described in a rather Hallmark TV manner (yes I did write it).

The story is about their relationship and challenges that both face in their respective lives. There is an undercurrent of sexual attraction throughout as they had previously been lovers.

So:

  1. Lesbian Sex
  2. Romance
  3. Somewhere else
Lesbian seems safest, but it’s not a sapphic sex romp.

Romance goes over well in Lesbian. Oyster River is a nine page romance with one sex scene. It has a score of 4.86 in Lesbian.

You’ll get a real buzz out of it. The experience is wanderful.

Will I see visions? Er. I say I of course, but I'm of course talking about this totally not-made-up discerning woman I'm enquiring on behalf of. Obviously!

You! Yes you! The cool kid with the white flag and the constantly changing words underneath! Don't you even think about bringing your lesbian smut onto my romance with your smiles from a distance, the gentle caress of long nails over soft skin and the knowing tongue exploring the areas only she thought she intimately knew, slowly lifting her to heights no man has never achieved...

Excuse me... I, umm, need to water the roses out the backyard.
