I wanna be a kool kid and ask a question about categories

I have a quasi-biographical story complete, but yet to be edited.

The main characters are both women. They only have sex once and at the very end. It’s described in a rather Hallmark TV manner (yes I did write it).

The story is about their relationship and challenges that both face in their respective lives. There is an undercurrent of sexual attraction throughout as they had previously been lovers.

So:

  1. Lesbian Sex
  2. Romance
  3. Somewhere else
Lesbian seems safest, but it’s not a sapphic sex romp.

Safest is Erotic Couplings, that can be anything, but then you can put in hetro encounters also (if there were any) OR you can put it in Sci-fi and if anyone asks you just say it happens in the future.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. EC is where my stories go to die.

It meant as a joke, but EC has been pretty good to my stories.

I'm gonna agree with general consensus about Lesbian, but perhaps make sure to tag it with Romance as well.

It’s not a fair observation as the only things I have posted there were ones that didn’t fit anywhere else.

I've done the same thing, but I don't have the catalogue of experiences you're able to write from so a lot of the different categories aren't anything I can use.

I put my story about a regular guy meeting his pornstar idol IRL there as I really couldn’t figure out where else.

That and a simple little story about giving my fiancé a morning BJ.

It didn’t feel like either totally fit.

Yeah, the schlep and the pro meeting IRL, that's either Erotic Couplings (or SciFi/Fantasy :D)

But giving your fiancé a good morning BJ - that romance. (ask any guy, that's romance!)

I had this idea at the time that romance = no sex

No, romance is flowers and firelight, there can be ropes and blindfolds too if it's done properly. In my Stormwatch series Josh discovers his lady love Veronica has been hiding a kinky side and they spend a snowy night in a log cabin with a warm fire, her favorite wine, and a length of rope. Some readers got angry, they were upset that their Veronica was stretched out on the coffee table in front of a crackling fire, while Josh and plenty of other readers fell in love with her "darker" side.

Later in the series she shows that she's a bit of an exhibitionist at a resort hotel on Amelia Island. It was a bit of a trick doing this romanticly, but by then the readers learned that she's not the goody-goody that came in 10th in the Miss America contest.

Nah. It's the happy ending people want. A romance story I wrote won a third place here with FMF sex scenes, and nobody complained. The two main characters got engaged in the last couple of paragraphs, so there was the HEA people expect.

This place is so 🤪.

I want a category for flowers, firelight and butt-plugs.

Go for it, anything can be romantic if the main ingredient is love.

Personally I'd like to see a category for strokers. Let's call it ASSTR just so everyone knows.
