does anybody know how to find out the persons name that emails you. you see i got this girl that keeps emailing me and telling me how much she likes me and how sexy i am, but she won't tell me who she is she just says i have to figure it out. and if i ever do figure it out she says she will give me the time of my life. but i have the slightest idea on how to figure it out. she gives me hints like i can find out by serching her ip address but i don't even know how to find that.
can any body help me please.

Sounds like a scam to me.

Genuine people don't play this kind of guessing game, promising sex.

Scam, spam, or someone toying with you, possibly a guy. I agree with Erika. Has your correspondence from this "girl" been generic, or has it included anything specific to prove that she actually knows you?

Do you know how to find the header information from the email?

oh no i forgot to mention she is a coworker of mine at work because of the things she says in her email to me. she be like i liked what you wore today at work and when i was talking to you today and you smiled like that it drove me crazy i wanted to jerk your pants down right there and then. she says stuff like that and talks about work sometimes so i know she for real. i think she might just want to email me back and forth and don't really won'tme to find out because she might be married or something lol. i don't really know.

i'm not sure what you mean header information. sorry

Sounds like grounds for a sexual harassment case if you ask me?

If it is happening on internal email within the company you work for, speak to your supervisor, or to the local computer tech.

You may want to reply to “her” emails, but if she is setting you up for a trap, you will be playing right into “her” hands, (SO DON’T REPLY). The reason I put quotation marks is that I too think this may be a male workmate playing you like a fish.

Most interco mail these days is or can be easily monitored. Don't say anything you wouldn't say in front of your boss. I was working on a coworkers computer once and an email popped up from one of the sales girls, talking about black negligees etc, etc...

Come on. How many women can you talk to at work and not know who it is. If she emails you and says I like what you wore today when I was talking to you then it has to be narrowed down to 1 or two people.

Most email programs will display header information that will give you the hostname or ip address of the sender. Then you can use whois.net to find out who the ip or domain is registered to but I don't see how that will help. You'll see something like abc.verizon.net which will point you to someone using verizon as their service provider. Only if she has her own ip and it's registered are you going to get anywhere.

If she's serious the clues are all there. If you're really interested then send her an email detailing what you have tried to do to find her. Tell her you failed and that you'll be at the company coffee table at 9:05 am where she can claim her prize for winning.

If she's pulling your leg, she won't be there. If she's serious you gave her an opening....That's the best you can do.

Office relationships are fraught with danger. If this goes anywhere you are walking on thin ice.....

yea that is true, well it could be narrowed down to four, well maybe three because i don't think the fourth one is my type and if she is the one doing it i don't won't no prize from her lol. but i just can't walk up to them and start asking questions about it, then they would all know and she wouldn't talk to me again. i might like her so i don't want to screw it up. i do like her emails and we do have fun, but i think she wants me to find out who she is own my own lol. she doesn't know that i have friends like yall on lit. that can help me find out who she is. maybe. but if not oh well it is still fun trying lol.

If it's a primary email addy a lot can be learned by pasting it into google. You would be amazed what you can find out about a person on google.
Also if she has a myspace account linked to that email you could go to myspace and search myspace by email.
