If not Biden, who?

I am not american so it is hard for me to understand that the elections will be between trump and biden again. Is there really no one better suited? Imreally like that lation woman, ms. cortez. Someone young, talented and witty.

Intelligent people are not interested in having their reputation shit canned. Politicians have zero respect for themselves.

Let's fly over and talk with Xi to try to stop the escalation of rhetoric between our two countries and try to stop an inflow of drugs from China...and then...in an off the cuff remark call Xi a "Dictator". Now...of course he is...but seriously...how stupid are you? Old people should not be in power to lead. Maybe 20 years ago...Biden may have had the mental acuity to pull off the position. But these kinds of "slips" are detrimental to our country

Did it occur to you that Xi would not consider being called a ‘dictator’ an insult?

I predict that Biden will step aside for Newsom.

Newsom may become the official vice presidential candidate - Biden may even remain the named lead on the ticket, but he will have either a real or feigned medical issue.

This will keep most of the heat off of Newsom and allow Biden to take the heat for continuing inflation until much closer to the election.

Publicly Xi might feign offense, but privately Xi revels in his authoritarianism.

And the corrupt orange traitor envies Xi.

SAD!!!

Barring a real medical crisis, President Biden and Vice President Harris will run it back.

Anybody suggesting otherwise is either gaslighting or panty-wetting.

If and / or when "The Left" abandons President Biden because he didn’t capitulate to every one of their demands or deliver on every one of his promises ( despite it being the "republicans" and the right wing courts blocking most of it) the blame for a second Drumpf administration will be theirs. Just like in 2016 when "The Left" abandoned Hillary Clinton.

Biden would dump a black woman VP and replace her with a white governor? I’m sure that will play well with Congressman Clyburn in the nation’s first Democratic Party primary in South Carolina on Feb 3.

The best thing about Biden is that the right is terrified of him. They’ve been trying to find some messaging to tear him down, but he just keep chugging along.
True. That's why Biden is beating Trump by 50 points!

As shitty as Trump is... Biden is in a dead heat with him. What's that say about Biden?

That's he likely to win?

If this summer results in terror attacks or we go to war in the Middle East or Ukraine, Biden is toast.

It doesn't matter if in the past Americans have rallied around the sitting president in war times, Biden will be blamed as the direct cause of our misery. OTOH Trump has experience in the oval office and the world was at peace during his tenure there.

One person I would back as a democrat would be … Jon Stewart … I have wanted him to run for well over a decade I think. He might not have the diplomatic foreign experience that Biden has but I don’t doubt he would listen to experts and to what other leaders are actually saying. I feel that he is more in touch with the average American more so than any recent candidate (on either side). He also knows the issues better than most politicians even …

All presidents and presidential candidates get attacked. It comes with the job.
There is attacking and there is the level of vitriol and hatred that the right has of Clinton … they hate her more then they do of ANY other politician that I see

Honestly while I think we've only had one present who served two nonconsecutive terms so we're kind of in a strange place right now. The reality is that all presidents get a pretty big up tick when they leave office. Its partially because nobody is watching their every move anymore and the sitting guy generally is below 50% Honestly you'd would need to be classic Hulk Hogan if you want to get north of 60%.

Progression from Governor is not abnormal. Funny thing is I don't really know too many Dem Governors by name. Why? Because they generally don't make assholes of themselves and get in the news for doing stupid stuff every day. I won't be wild about Whitless (MI), but would have to go there over any 'Pub these days. Not a fan of Newscum either. I don't need anyone who would try to California the US ... again. Ronny worked out so well after all. I'm not sure the one in AZ has enough experience yet.

Donald Trump is no Grover Cleveland.

It means you dumbasses put too much stock in polls taken by the elderly on land lines.

Hillary's problem wasn't how much the right hates her. They weren't going to vote for her. Hillary's problem is almost as many on the left dislike her as well.

He is too inexperienced and doesn't have the national name recognition, but I think congressman Jeff Jackson is the most promising future Democratic candidate. He is getting gerrymandered out of his congressional seat and has elected to run for North Carolina Attorney General. This is probably a good decision for him personally, but really limits his future potential as a candidate for national office any time soon.

Gerrymandering sucks. Actually, single representative congressional districts suck.

Donald Trump is no Grover Cleveland.

Didn't say that he was just its something that only happened once and honestly with the way politics functions in this country I think looking for examples that happened before at least television are more or less an exercise in absolute nonsense because the old rules don't apply. Biden doesn't need to go on tour of America he could learn how Twitter and Facebook work but still.

I think he DOES need to go to as many places as possible in person. Specifically the Fly Over states and hit the small farm areas to show support for farmers. Too bad the old whistle stop train runs aren't really an option any more.

Nonsense, a small war always does wonders for the popularity of a leader. Many have deliberately provoked a conflict in the run up to an election.

For example the Falklands (Malvinas) conflict was started by General Galtieri for that very reason; in the short term it totally worked but when Argentina had an embarrassing defeat he was finished. Margaret Thatcher on the other hand also had a massive boost and rode the victory through the next election.
