It’s monocultures that give me the willies. As an American I expect diversity to be the norm—a mix of races and cultures. It was weird at first visiting Ireland and Poland, but then I’m like duh of course they’re all Irish or Polish! I love Japanese culture but I suspect I’d find Japan weird too.
I prefer to live someplace that’s mixed, and I’m baffled by Americans who are anti-immigrant.
