I'll drink to that ren.

youll drink to anything my friend, thats what i like about you. and my uncle was a marine corps vet in 'nam too. my pops was in the navy and my uncle flew helicopters for the army. my other uncle went to prison to avoid being drafted, my grandfather never forgave him.

your about right Ren, I like to say that I am a social drinker, I drink in groups of 1 or more.

do you know what your dad's rate(job) was in the Navy?

I've worked and played, side by side with the corp for years, every now and again I get to missing those days.

Ever smell napalm? I haven't, and I don't think I want to. But my dad has. He was stationed at the U.S. Naval Depot in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. He was the only one making napalm for the Marine Corps' F-4 Phantoms at the time. Every Marine F-4 that dropped napalm during the Siege of Khe Sanh dropped napalm that he made. Fun, isn't it? :D

i know he was a third class petty officer and a gunners mate. Were you in 'nam?

hope I don't step on any toes.. but I have to side with your gramps. my gramps and two of his brothers where Navy in WW II, one off his cousins was at pear on Dec 7th 1941. My dad was Navy and his brother was Airforce, now my boy is Navy he is over in the Persian gulf, again.

naw not that old, I did my time in Asia mostly. had to do some editing. sorry, hope I don't start boring ya'all with seastories.

dont worry about the toes, Uncle Bobby is the stain on our family's martial honour. My grandpa was at pearl harbor as well in the army air corp. and his brothers were in the army proper. my dad dropped out of high school to enlist in 'nam. and my uncle johnny was a marine and at Khe Sanh. i remember distinctly him waking up in the night once when he was visiting and screaming about a napalm strike. my dad had to physically strike him to snap him out of it. I tried to enlist in the army but was classified as unfit for combat due to my back and knees. My other uncle Donny was shot down three times.

This is very conincendental. We're talking about the military, and I just got an e-mail from the local Army recruiter. How weird is that? He said that he would keep e-mailing me until I responded because he wouldn't know if I had recieved the e-mail yet.

napalm, the smell of victory- apocalyps now
can neither confirm nor deny, but you don't wanna smell it without a mask.

UN - looks like we oughta throw ya a big bash some time. I'm sure between me and Ren we could find enough to drink. :D

Whoa. Your Uncle Johnny was at Khe Sanh? He should thank my dad for making the napalm that the F-4s dropped to help him out. :D

y agonna write him back blaster?

Who, the recruiter? Already did. I told him that the ground-pounders in the Army aren't really Marines yet, and that he shouldn't contact me again about the military. The only time you will see me in a recruiter's office is when the draft has been issued. Even then, I won't join the Army. I'd go with the Marines.

For me, I would come up, not down. :D

Hey, UN, I never did find Rancho and Washington. I went from one end of Washington Ave to the other and didn't see Rancho anywhere near it. When compared to Phoenix, Vegas is impossible to get around. Phoenix has everything laid out. Streets with names run east-west (with a few exceptions); numbered streets run north-south. So, if I were to say 64th and Thunderbird, I'm refering to an intersection. Very easy to get around.

vietnam fucked him up and he was alcoholic till the day he died afterward. he was drunk and crashed his truck swerving to avoid a coyote or somesuch. My dad is dead too. strangely the surviving brothers are the career criminal and the one who got shot down three times

Vietnam fucked alot of people up. If it was the napalm at Khe Sanh that messed him up, then don't bother mentioning my dad.

Anyways, on to more cheerful subjects shall we?
