The neighbourhood wives book club has reached the point of wine consumption where they are talking men rather books.
But even then, they are shocked by Maeve's comment.
They are even more shocked when Naomi replies "Sure, but do they feel the same?"

How do they get from there to the test swap?
Do Maeve and Naomi challenge each other right then or privately later?
Do others get involved in the challenge/test?
How do the hubbies react?
how does the test turn out?

A serendipitous moment.
Living in the south they don't get too upset when a tropical storm or minor hurricane rolls through. In fact, it's often a reason to have a little party. So, Maeve and her husband are at Naomi's home as the storm approaches. The husbands are close friends which is how the ladies met in the first place.
About 10pm the power goes out per usual, and Naomi is ready with candles and lamps. When the ladies go into the kitchen to get them, the men start to joke about how many 'hurricane blackout babies' will be made that night.
Naomi and Maeve lock eyes as the first candle is lit and both can see that the other is thinking the same as they are. When Maeve smiles and nods, Naomi nods back and blows out the candle.

A fun idea but, let's be honest, it has to be one hell of a 'blackout' for people not to recognise partners. Even if vision is ruled out, there are inevitably 'ways'...

I totally agree. If a woman other than my wife was to straddle me in the dark, I'd know instantly it wasn't her. By scent alone. I wasn't suggesting the dark would keep anyone anonymous, but rather the tension of the moment when the husbands realize it and then one hears his wife's voice. "It's okay baby. Just go with it."

Poor Naomi, she's only ever had one cock in her life. It's a nice one, she thinks, but doesn't know for sure.

Maeve happens to be a cuckquean. The opportunity here is too special to pass up. Not only can she help her good friend, but she could bring a nice prize back to her deserving husband. Of course he'd be a willing test subject for their inexperienced friend.

But Naomi's husband might be a challenge. True, his eyes often fall on Maeve at the neighborhood BBQ's as she'd caught him quite often. Maybe he wouldn't be too hard to convince after all. Who knows, he might get off on watching his wife experiment with another man. Especially if Maeve stroked him at the same time.

Darkness plays a part in many erotic stories. To me, it can be an erotic accompaniment or 'accelerant' rather than a strategic plot tool. I suppose classic scenarios would be, for example, a (ball)room with dancing in low light or a candlelit dinner party.
