do women keep their hair inside a little black hat on the back of their head? There were two in Walmart the other day.

I could be wrong, but I think one of the strictly Orthodox Jewish (Hasidic, maybe?) requires that married women have their hair put up like that. I just tried search engining it and didn't find anything immediately helpful, but now my curiosity is piqued.

One was a girl who looked a little young to be married though she could have been.

I few weeks ago I saw two Tibetan monks in Walmart. What the fuck were the doing in north Georgia?

Yeah they looked kind of Amish.

Stocking up on the latest roll back prices? Maybe they saw the hiding hair women and went looking for something new for hanging out at the monastery? Early holiday shopping? That whole 'Black Friday' thing scares the hell out of me, I can't imagine what it'd look to them.

Agreed, probably Mennonite.

There's a small M. community in this area and I think I've seen that occasionally (in Walmart, no less).

From the description I'm sure I've seen pics of this even though I can't find any, for some reason South American comes to mind, maybe they're part of the monks group.

These were white girls. Very country looking modest dresses but kind of cute too. I would have fucked both of them.

They were more like rectangular boxes stuck on the back of their heads. 3 x 6 inches or so. I wanted to ask but didn't want to offend them. I looked on the web and didn't find any that looked like them. Maybe I'll see them there again. When the weather is bad I do my walking in there. One lap is 600 yards.

I've seen quite a few women at Wally World who were dressed like this with the hair covers. I've always wondered what religion they were from. They look like they belong on the set of Little House on the Prairie!

Probably Mennonite, although their caps are usually white net around here. The Amish wear bonnets. Yes, they shop in Walmart, just like real people.

You're talking about Hutterite....

Hutterite men and women must cover their heads and outer clothing with dark colors (dark navy to black). It is a requirement of the faith. Amish women must cover their hair with a white mantle, per their religion, while the men must wear 'simple' hats, which can include several styles and materials. Mennonite are the most 'modern', and most of them dress like conservative--but contemporary farmers. Only the separationist Mennonites still do the covered heads, and there is no clear specification of the religion as to color/type.

I believe the Amish and Mennonite women tend to keep their hair up/covered. If memory serves, married Orthodox Jewish women shaves their heads and may, or may not, wear a wig.

Hmm.. wikipedia confirms the wig, not the shaving, though.

I'm pretty sure Jewish women don't shave their heads. That would be a major sin since a woman's hair is one of her treasures her husband is entitled to. Yes, it's sexist and stupid, but it's in the old testament of the Bible. (yes, I was once the good little choir boy )

At least you don't have to be there to cut the shrink wrap off the Black Friday specials. ;)

could be a form of amish.
different "sects", i guess you could say, require their married woman to have their hair covered in a bun by a bonnette<sp>, typically they're white tho.
but besides that i have no idea.

Amish, Mennonites, and Hutterites all come from the same Anabaptist roots, and there are many seperate groups within these as well. I know some Mennonite groups where the women wear little black hats similar to what you describe, but not sure about the square part. Seems to me I have seen those somewhere though...and where I have been it would be either some old order Mennonite group, or perhaps a Russian religious group.

There's a Tibetan Buddhist temple in GA. I'm not sure where, exactly, but I know there is one.

She is Mennonite. I asked her.
"Excuse me Ma'am, but may I ask what religion you are?"

I was nervous because who asks a stranger that. But her whole face lit up in a big smile. She said, "First of all I'm a Christian. And I am also Mennonite."
When I saw her 15 minutes later she smiled again. Maybe I'll get some Mennonite pussy. And yes, I"m kidding.

You would have to marry her first, but she is interested. ;)

I'm not all that sure but I beleive you would have to convert to mennonite to marry her, but that's not exactly hard to do. I don't think anyway I would have to research Mennonite to tell you for sure, I only have a passing knowledge of Amish.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. There's women of every religion that put out. She just may not be one of them. I'm sure you could even hook up with an amish chick if you looked hard enough, though.

I don't know if she was interested or just flattered that I asked. I didn't look for a wedding ring. Seemed like last time she had a daughter with her. Or maybe she did found me attractive. Some women do. Not all, but some.

I saw a show on the Amish. They go through a period where they drink, smoke, raise all kinds of hell and have sex. After that period they have to either leave or choose the way of the church.
