Check in!
Abi smiled and kissed Jo gently, “It will be wonderful.” The two got out of the car and Abi supervised the unloading of the luggage. As the driver unloaded and moved the bags into the lobby Abi gazed at the Aegean. It was so beautiful and such a dark blue, just as she remembered it from so many years before. The air was sweet and a gentle breeze blew. She felt the breeze caress her body and slightly lift her skirt. Bu she did not move to push her skirt down even though she was still pantiless. She loved the feel of the breeze gently caressing her sex. Her reverie was interrupted by the friendly driver who pointed towards the lobby. Abby understood, he was done moving their bags and they were now in the lobby. He walked with her to the door and then pointed again. Abi smiled and handed him a few Euros, “Efharisto,” She said gently. He smiled and bowed slightly and took off. Abi’s Greek was mostly ancient Greek which bears some resemblance to Modern Greek, but of course learning Ancient Greek is a reading skill. Abi could read ancient Greek but she not actually speak Greek, ancient or modern. But she remembered a few words – “efharisto” was related to “eucharisto” and meant "thanks." The ancient word was a particularly evocative word because of its adoption and use in Christian worship. But more than that the word itself was very beautiful: “eu” means joy or celebration; and “charis” is the word for grace or undeserved kindness. The word – “eucharisto” expressed exactly how Abi was feeling not only about the trip, but especially about her relationship with Jo. “Undeserved joy” was exactly how she felt. As she mused on this she began to tear up.
In the meantime Jo had gone on into the lobby and had checked them in and gotten their keys. She walked over to Abi and took her by the hand. Abi kissed her hand and then Abi noticed the bellboy who had followed and was marking the bags with their room number. She knew that he would bring them up to their room in a bit. Together Abi and Jo waited for the elevator with several other couples, one who looked to be on their honeymoon as they were all over each other. Abi looked at Jo and they giggled. Finally the elevator arrived and whisked all of them off to their rooms. As they walked into the room Jo tried to turn on the lights, but they didn't go on. They both stood for a moment when Abi then remembered, she took the key from Jo and pushed it into a plastic receptacle right next to the door and all the lights came on.
