Is it possiable to be G/L and not be part of the culture?

Challenging racism and bigotry institutes social change for the better. If the "gay community" took that kind of nuetral stance and just accepted thier roles as second class citizens the Stonewall riots would have never occured and life would be much more difficult for all of us right now. Hate groups become more vocal out of desperation and a need to appear more popular than they are. They should always be questioned.

I have issues with the gay community~there are times i feel like I just dont fit in. There are times it just feels so good to let it all out. I wonder what you guys consider being "openly gay" and what is "flaunting" your sexuality becouse while i'm the former i'm far from the latter. I just live my life in a way that feels comfortable and natural to me and i'm not going to change that to fit into someone else's idea of who i should be and how i should behave.

My way of supporting the gay community is supporting businesses I know are run by gay men and women.

I have been out about being bi for 7 years now. Do not know much about the gay and lesbian culture. Not because I do not want to, just lived in states where it is not accepted very well and they pretty much kick the shit out of you when they find out. Shit I just found out about PFLAG. Had no clue there was a support group for parents of gay children. Now living in Oregon I want to fully and totally explore the culture. Especially with pollyjean by my side. Anyone here that lives in Or., care to tell us of some great places to go see and visit?
